This HP Ipaq runs on Windows 5.0 , which is an old platform. For 4GB SDHC to work u will require an advanced handset. Even if it accepts it will freeze or the screen will stop working. Finally u cant install 4GB SDHC on ur HP IPaq :(

My compaq ipaq h3970 won't recofnise a SDHC 4gb card - any ideas?

The card may require formatting to suit your device.
Windows>Tools>Format Card.
Note: Formatting will erase all info.

New cards can be faulty and also double check it is inserted correctly and fully clicked into position.

My new 4gb sd card does not register on storage display, and does not seem available to use

The official oprating systems of the HX4700, WM2003 and WM5, do not support SDHC card format. Since most 4Gb "SD" cards are in SDHC format (check the label on your card), the file format of your card is likely to be incompatible with the PDA. Get a 2Gb SD card, or go for a Compactflash card for 4Gb to 32Gb of storage space.

Just bought 4GB SD card that hx4700 does not recognise - help pse

Your slot in the iPAQ is a SD slot, not a SDHC slot - therefore it will not read the card. Your PC card is probably a dual reader. The SD cards look the same but are different. Have a read of this...

What's max mem size for ipaq 1950

Mem cards are added as storage cards and do not add up to your iPaq RAM.

You can use mem cards to add up space to install applications. (ie. it is something similar to installing a new Harddrive on your PC). However the physical RAM of your iPaq cannot be extended.

PocketPC programs have small RAM requirements so your PDA's built-in RAM will suffice.

As far as the maximum card size if I understood your question right, if your iPaq comes with Windows Mobile v5 or earlier, it supports SD cards up to 2GB and perhaps some non SDHC standard SD cards up to 4GB. If you can upgrade to WM6, then WM6 supports SDHC cards, so you can install >4GB cards.

Hope this helps.

Outlook 2002 Reinstallation

The default e-mail client on pocketPC 2003 is the "inbox" which is merly a utility for retreiving & sending e-mail. There is no "outlook 2002" on pocket PC's. The Outlook 2002 installation cd comes with most iPaqs and is intended for your pc, not your ipaq.
