I have sent my PC for RE-FORMAT due to the frequent system hanging especially when I browse the internet. Unfortunely, I don't have a disk driver with me thus all my files were erased. When I connect my internet cable for browsing I was prompted that the network is not available. What could have cause this and how can I correct it?

I recommend checking the device manager of your operating system to see if the network adaptor is installed correctly. It sounds like it isn't, & therefore you need to use a different computer to go to the Acer Aspire One website, choose which model you have from the support / download page, and download the driver for your network adaptor.

What you can do best is find a computer that can connect to the internet. You also need a USB thumb drive. Then go to the Acer Aspire One website, download all the files you needed to the USB drive. Install the driver you previously downloaded to the USB drive via USB port of your Acer Aspire One PC notebook. That's what I do always, I also own an Acer Aspire One laptop.

How to fix unexpected shutdown due to Blue screen problem of Pavilion HDX9494NR

See if the Check disk utility will solve your problem. To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc ora operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot fromit. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with whiteletters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice thepercentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run tocompletion. Then reboot machine.

If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows.Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair whenthe options appear.

In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recoveryconsole and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

My internet got slow and freezes between loading pages...I think it may be out of date drivers but don't know how to check that...

there are a couple things to check, delete all the browsing data under tools- internet options. Go to windows update and make sure its up to date. Then do a virus and spyware check. depending on the operating system the hdd may need a defrag or disk cleanuphese things usually make a pc run way smoother

1. i hope you have backed up of all your data from the HDD.
2. format the HDD and reload the OS - but this time, make sure that you have atleast 2 partitions.
3. keep all your important in the second (non-system) partition.
4.after you have reloaded the OS, please get a good anti-virus and anti-spyware application and scan your computer regularly with them.

I have a Toshiba L200 laptop running on Windows Vista. It hangs frequently and sometimes restart on its own. Thinking it a windows problem, I re-format it and install a fresh Vista OS using the systems...

It sounds like you have some drivers missing. Don't worry If you log on to www.computers.toshiba-europe.com click on "click here to find your laptop" under the heading "support my product" (left hand side of the screen mid way up).
It will even look up all firmware and software upgraded and help you to install them.Hope this helps.

How many times a harddisk can be formatted?

hi,

in a long course of use it is quite natural to format the harddisk...

(due to viruses or something like that)

when formatting,
the operating system needs a file system to organise data into files and folders....
so they can be managed effectively...
when formatting it clears a particular area called a partition then divides it into sectors, tracks formed by the combination of these sectors, and cylinders...

sector is the smallest data block in hard disk an operating system can manage...

if not frequent formatting a hard disk not at all a problem....

you need not worry about the hard disk or its performace....

if this one help please give a vote....
