Paper Jam When we send a job to the plotter it always says it has a paper jam. What we need to do everytime is roll the paper back onto the paper roll and feed the paper back into the plotter until it senses aper then it will plot that job. Next job you have to repeat previous steps.

i am having the same problem with the printer

  • PegeMA Sep 24, 2008

We have the same problem, have you fixed it yet?

  • Anonymous Oct 02, 2008

the printer always complains of a paper jam and you have to rewind the roller at the back and feed the paper back in again. the printer now feeds the paper out of the front about 2 feet and then rewinds again. If you're lucky the printer will now print 1 out of 10 times. the ink also fades away in areas and gets dark again on the same print out when the cartridges have been recently replaced. please help!

When paper is first loaded. the machine will do a single print job after which it form feeds paper out of the machine by 2 feet and errors out with paper jam

  • Anonymous Dec 30, 2008

Upon power on, you can hear wheels turning and the head moving as usual. The printer comes up and appears ok. I insert a sheet of paper, it is accepted, drawn thru till it falls out. Then the printer beeps and the paper-out and press-select icons come on--both flashing.

Using roll paper, I insert it then it is drawn in, starts to emerge from the front, about an inch or so, then stops. The printer beeps and the same two icons flash. If I press the select button again, It pulls 10 inches more paper through, then beeps and stops.

I have disconnected the roll system completely, it still does behaves this way with single sheets.

when we print the paper is rolled back out and we have to feed it in manually. often it won't accept the new paper (gives a paper jam display). how can we get this thing to work?

Make sure that you are inserting the paper into the correct slot in the back of the machine. Good Luck.

Red light is constantly blinking and when try to print, there is always a paper jam

Every time there is paper jam, the printer knows the job is not completed and hence tries to re-print after the paper is removed and cover is shut.

Clear the print job from computer.
Power off the printer and Clear the paper jam (if any)
I would try to use different tray. The paper pickup roller in one path may be worn out.
eg Sheet feeder or multipurpose tray.
Load paper in new tray
Set the application to use new tray

Ensure you sue the right thickness (gsm) of the paper. Quality of paper is crucial. Too thin; too thick can affect functioning.

Clear paper jam pcr t2000

It\'s very unusual for the paper to jam as this machine uses a clam shell type of printer. Just raise the printer arm and remove the paper roll. Clear any paper from the print head and roller etc. Tear any wrinkled paper from the roll and then refit the roll with the shiny side of the paper towards you. Lay the paper in the printer and close the printer arm down onto the paper. If you are setting the journal side, wind some paper onto the takeup spool after it exits the printer and sit the spool into place.

PAPER JAM WITHOUT ANY PAPER FEEDED

there is a common fault on this particular printer which also affects the t770/t1200
when trying to feed a new roll of paper the plotter is asking to remove the paper from manual feed even though there is none.

the fault lies with the way the plotter is using the manual feed sensor,
there has been a technical release from HP regarding this same issue.
what to do -
1) firstly you need to find out whether the sensor really is at fault or if there is another fault which is confusing the manual sensor output.
a:- upgrade the firmware on the plotter ( always make sure your plotters firmware is upto date), cycle the power of the plotter and retry.
b:-use your user operating guide to take you through 'calibrating manual feed sensor' and retry.this is a quick process which sets the values for paper present/not present on the formatter.
c:- if the above two have failed then order a new PCA and calibrate the sensor immediately after first initialize of new Main PCA.

if the sensor fails to calibrate then I would first order a new sensor ( cheapest option first) if that fails then replace the main PCA. but always first check for any new firmwares.

Trying to put in a new paper roll

Turn off the Sharp EL-1801V.

  • 2 Cut the end of the replacement paper roll for a fresh edge and to ensure a smooth feed. Do not tear the paper roll, as feeding a torn paper roll can cause a paper jam.
  • 3 Insert the cut edge into the paper opening on the back of the Sharp EL-1801V. Hold the paper roll so that the edge being fed into the machine is coming from the bottom of the roll. Turn the power on.
  • 4 Press the "Feed" button until the paper is fed through the unit. Lift the metal paper roll holder up. Slide the paper roll onto the paper-roll holder.

    Sharp AR-287 Copier Paper Jam

most copiers that have lcd screens, should you show you where the paper is. sometimes it may take getting down to look under a couple of guide plates. or just roll some of the rollers to get the paper to come out. all it takes a minute piece of paper to be sitting on a sensor for it to throw the paper jam message.

    Paper Jam

    hi y'all -

you share a frustrating problem... error message but no apparent error (jam)! it's one that's common to many models of printers and the result of many different causes.

I've seen it when I've printed on cheaper paper, or different (lower) grades with odd surface finishes. the sensors get dirty, or the printer/computer 'thinks' there's paper stuck where none exists. I've opened/closed paper trays 2-3 times and rolled feed rollers around multiple times, then closed printer paper drawers only to have the 3rd time of doing the exact same steps be the time it cleared the error message.

there are often very tiny pieces of paper stuck in weird places in the paper path in printers, too. if you did have a jam before the message started, is every little scrap of the page accounted for? there are also hard to get to places to find paper scraps in larger printers, but I'm going to assume you're all talking about home printers.

here are a few general HP support links you may find helpful for future paper jam messages for this model of printer.

this link is for general info for this model:

here's a link addressing paper jams in general:

and here's one on cleaning your printer:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00016484&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=304535

hope this helps a little bit for future refs. remember that using good paper helps print quality and lessens printing problems. also, when you take a stuck page out of a printer, doing so gently will help ensure little scraps of paper do not tear off paper edges and get stuck in weird spots. it some times helps to gently, manually, roll the feed rollers a full turn around in the printer, too. patience pays! -JW50

Doesn't Print - Says "Paper Jam"

That is the problem, machine will show printer jam if paper feed rollers fail to pick up paper when requested, your machine sounds like it needs new paper feed roller or you can clean the paper feed roller with a slightly! damp cloth.

If no jam light shows when power is turn on and machine comes to ready and then you send a job to printer and it then shows jam then it is the feed roller or sometimes the feed clutch

If on the other hand it always show jam then there is or a switch is stuck.
