I have a PT4298 TV and am trying to replace the "pico fuses". Are the pico fuse the ones labeled RFZ53 and RFZ50 (Is this just the board reference designators?) and where can I purchase them? They look like resistors with color bands on them. Both of them have the same color bands so I'm not sure if they are different fuses or the same ones. Also, I measured across them and they both read 150 Ohms. Does that mean that they are both bad? The board is a P55A AA41-00601B (CG Amp PCB).

The only labeling is the RFZ50 and RFZ53. They are connected to the STK392-040 (Convergence IC) VCC and -VCC pins so I am assuming those are the right "fusible resistors". How do I know what the amperage rating is the will blow these fuses and also where can I purchase them? Also, if they are measuring 150 ohms does that mean they are still good (since they're not open)? Thanks in advance.

Pico fuses are resistor with a very low resistance value almost like shorted when read on a multimeter.this resistors acts like a fuse they blow when a short circuit occurs.they are also called fusible resistors...a defective pico resistors are open in resistance reading.they do not have any reading..150 ohms reading is not bad ..usually fusible resistors are installed on the positive supply of every components to avoid fire when a circuit malfunction...fuses are on the the board are labeled F with corresponding amperage rating!
good luck hope this helps!

Replaced Convergence chips, same problem

This set has pico fuses on convergence board and also on G power board, there should be 2 5 amp pico fuses on power board.

If convergence is bad exactly as before double check the power board fuses and check to see if voltage (it is marked!) is there with power board disconnected from chassis..

Did you check the two pico fuses on the G board? Usually at least one will blow when the original ICs failed. I am attaching a pic that shows the 2 pico fuses on the G board.

I believe there is a power board on the left side when looking from the back. It will be vertical, right next to the board you worked on. Take that board out. I believe there are about four pico fuses on that board. One or two of them will be open. Replace the fuses and you should be good to go.

Make sure to check all the fuses with an ohm meter. Pioneer also have terrible solder joints. I used to "sweep solder" the whole convergence board. Down on the power supply you should find the pico fuses. They are pretty small in compairison to the glass fuses.

Mitsubishi ws55819 has no picture

the pico fuses are 6.3 amp. any type pico fuse rated at 6.3 amp will do and the convergence ic's are labeled on the body of the ic. (STK 391-010 or similar). the board that the ic's are on can be removed without removing the entire tray. the connectors are marked and even different sizes to prevent miss-connection when installing board abain. be carefull removing the board as the screws holding it in also hold the heat-sink for the ic's as well as the shield for the generator module.
And do please unplug the set first!!

Samsung LNS 4692 lcd tv t-con board

The fuse is located just upper right to the connector that attaches to the main board. This is a SMD pico fuse that is rated for 3 A @ 32 V DC that protects the Vin bus. Replacing the fuse may not fix the problem as it has most probably opened because of failure of another component.
