Question about Ovens

I had the oven on 350 for 45 min. baking potatoes and then the oven beeped twice and F1 showed up on the screen where it had said 350 so I turned the oven off and the time then showed on the screen. But shortly it beeped again and F1 showed again on the screen. I repeated this several times and the same thing happened and the bottom element would not shut off this whole time so we tripped the breaker to get it to shut off. What is the problem? The model number is # FEF352AWD, Serial No. VF23512734 It is a frigidaire self cleaning oven.

The manual says error code "F1" means a problem occurred in the circuitry and suggests pressing "CLEAR" to reset it. If the problem persists, contact a repair guy.

"This oven is equipped with a state of the art electronic oven control. Among its many features is a full time oven circuit diagnostics system. The control constantly monitors its internal circuitry as well as several crucial oven circuits to insure they are all operating correctly. If at any time one of these systems fails, the control will immediately stop operation, and beep continuously (flashing an error code of F1, F3 or F9 in the display window, if equipped). Electronic control has detected a fault condition. Press CLEAR to clear the display and stop the beeping. Reprogram oven. If fault recurs, record fault number, press CLEAR and contact an authorized servicer."

check temp sensor if faulty wont let oven turn on then circuit board beeps to let you know that you can by pass to see if that is the case , then replace it

F1 Error indicates a bad control board and the control board (electronic control) should be replaced to solve this issue. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Hi,

"F1" code clearly indicates that main control board has failed. The possible fix for this kind of problem is you have to replace the faulty circuit board. This is the only solution and you cant repair anything else in this unit when F1 flashes.

you can first try to reset the curcuit breaker
flip on and off
if this does not help
usually an f1 error is your control board
what is your full model number from inside the oven?

Beeps with a -F 1- showing up on the screen

F1 means a touch pad or board went bad. In you case most likely board. Part number: 74009559

Error code F7 keeps coming up, what does this mean?

F1 error and beeping. Don't bother getting GE out there. Cost me $90 to learn they don't make the clock. WOuld have been $500+ for the control panel anyway. Better off just buying a new one. Planned obsolescence I guess. I won't buy GE again.

Kenmore Oven going crazy

The bang may have been an element arcing over. Turn off the power and remove the element. If it shows any form of damage, replace it. If you're not sure, use a continuity checker to check it. If you have two elements...do this for both. You will likely find the problem.
