I have (PCV-RXG408) this Sony Vaio desktop computer. I installed Windows XP on the computer and this message has been coming up every time I start the comptuer up (Hardware Monitor found an error. Enter Power setup menu for more details) Well I did that and everything looks ok to me, and I also put everything in the menu on ignore, but still get that message when I start up the computer. I can press f1 every time but that gets annoying. Was wondering what I could do .

You must firstly install an operating system, assuming there is a hard drive/ssd fitted.
If no hdd fit an hdd and then place an operating system on it.
try installing afresh from scratch.....
dont clone
try use a smaller partition for C (say 60 - 80GB)
boot from the XP disk(change boot seq in BIOS to boot from CDROM)
and install fresh copy....
try starting it in safe mode(f8 while starting up and restore from there), if not you might have to boot from the recovery cd, and last but not least reinstall windows
one of the files in the system32 directory in the windows folder is corrupt, the files in the system32 folder contains vital files for the boot procedure, try to start the machine in "safe mode" by pressing F8 after the sony boot screen, if it allows you into the operating system you will need to choose "system Restore" take the time back to at least a week before your problems started DO NOT CREATE A RESTORE POINT
run with safe mode and go with admin privileges then when u are in go START -RUN - TYPE THERE ( MSCONFIG ) -startup and desable all startup items and restart the pc!!!
