Power problems everytime the power goes out from a storm my tv will not come back on I get a small red/blue dot in the middle of the tv then it goes off again. I fixed it last time this happened but I don't know how I fixed it. I keep trying to turn the power on & off but it doesn;t seem to do it either. I have direct tv. Please help

that is usually a t-con board or video card. ebayers usually have those parts reasonable.

it could be the power board which is the costlier part.

The model indicated uses what is called a Optical Light Engine, it is a very expensive part and likely is your problem---not much else will cause this trouble.

I have to be honest with you, I suspect the marks are burns on the three picture tubes and permanent.

A simple way to prove this that requires no technical knowledge:

Remove the back cover and locate the three large lens (red, green and blue tubes) and with the set on cover each lens one at a time; if a mark vanishes that tube is burnt in the middle.

If you have three dots or tear shaped marks the set arced and burnt a small area of each picture tube's screen.

These tubes are about 4x5 inches at the screen and are like a regular tv screen; there is a phospher coating and if the set arcs it will burn the coating away in the middle of the screen on each tube.

Confirm this and if true two things would have to happen: replace all three tubes (not worthwhile) and find what caused the arc.

Panel is bad. Contact Samsung to see if they will replace the panel.

Please check the power supply board, if there is any Pup-Up electrolytic capacitors, please replace them.

Usually not but in some cases gently massageing the dot(tv turned on or off try both) with your finger may work (dont push too hard)

or put on a channel with static and try

your chances are slim though this is usually a defect in the lcd technology and most manufactures only warranty it for 5-7 stuck pixels

Check whether your mobile's bluetooth is on, if on thats why u r gettings blue dot on screen

Hi Guys

The Blue dots or discolouration you are seeing is due too the Blue LCD screen having cracked from excessive heat. This normally happens when you have a power failure while the Television was on. This obviously because the Blue LCD sits next to the lamp - the main cause of heat. The correct part number on the 60" is A-1086-952-A. It is very, very ,expensive.

you have no deflection and don't leave the dot on to long it will burn the crt's.
