You can create a Vista password recovery disk to reset your password. Follow this 5 easy steps:

1. Enter a computer that can link to Internet. Search "windows password recovery tool" in Google. Download and install the software on that computer.

2. Run the software and create windows password reset disk by follow the instructions.

3. Eject the created CD/DVD and insert it into the locked computer.

4. Reboot the locked computer (it's necessary for you to change your locked computer's BIOS setting to make it boot from CD drive) and then follow the instructions to recover vista password.

5. Now login Windows and set a new password.

  1. Click on Start and then Control Panel.
  2. Click on the User Accounts and Family Safety link.
Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply double-click on the User Accounts icon and proceed to Step 4.
  3. Click on the User Accounts link.
  4. In the Make changes to your user account area of the User Accounts window, click the Create a password for your account link.
  5. In the first two text boxes, enter the password you would like to start using.
Entering the password twice helps to make sure that you typed your password correctly.
  6. Click the Create password button to confirm your new password.
  7. You can now close the User Accounts window.
  8. Now that your Windows Vista account has a password setup, you must use this password to log on to Windows Vista from this point forward.
  9. Create a Windows Vista password reset disk. This isn't a required part of creating a new password but I highly recommend that you do it.
A password reset disk will protect you from the consequences of forgetting your new Windows Vista password.

Lost child lock code and it's asking for it...,.HELP?

If the previous user never used a child lock function, how do this now activated? Anyway, to reset this set, you have to know about the child lock code. There is some details about, how to unlock the child lock, its repair manual will have the procedure. Check this link. It has details about these matters to many brand TVs. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts there, either by its left side bar, or see it in Timslide option.

How do i remove the panel to get into my 47" Vizio HDTV?

The child lock on a TV can be a wonderful thing. A parent sometimes cannot be present for the duration of a kids' show, so the child lock ensures they can't watch programs that are off limits. Follow a few easy steps you'll be back to watching regular TV in no time. Instructions Locate the manual for your television. Though slightly embarrassing, accidentally turning on the child lock to a TV is a common problem. The section In the manual about how to set the child lock feature will also explain how to unlock it. Try a few "universal methods" for unlocking the child lock. Some televisions have a universal code built in for disabling the child lock --no matter what your code is. A common code is "0000." The child lock in on on my Bosch classixx 6 1200. I don't know how to disengage it

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I'll start by saying your post indicates it is a Bosch classixx and the "child lock" selection has been activated, either intentional or accidental.

To reset it is as follows...

1) Press the "menu" button until you see "CHILD LOCK :ON" appear in the display. ( if nothing is pressed within 10 sec.following this the menu will close and it will default to program in the display )

2) Once you see what I just mentioned in the display press the "select" button until "CHILD LOCK :OFF" appears in the display.

3) Finally by pressing the "start/pause" button the key symbol should disappear confirming you have successfully exited the child lock program.

**Many times you can also push and hold the start key for several seconds and this too will deactivate the selection...on various models**

Let me know if this was helpful to you or not, if so please take a second and rate it accordingly and a short testimony is also appreciated. Thank you for choosing FixYa.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

I have an AKAI TV CT-2877A (M) and the "child

Hi,

As long as you remember the "CODE" The child lock on a TV is a wonderful thing.

The lock sometimes causes unwanted trouble--if it gets accidentally turned on and you don't know the code, you can find yourself unable to fully enjoy the full range of available television stations. Please apply the following possible 5 different solutions taht verified by different users and than hopefully you'll be back to watching regular TV ....

  1. Bring Up TV Menu ; Power on the television with the activated child lock on. Push the "Menu" button on the remote control. A series of features appears on the screen, ranging from the overall TV functions to the video display and the audio setup features ,Choose "Options" and a new menu appears on the screen. From the new menu select "Child Lock." The exact setup selection is going to vary slightly, although the child protection is always referred to as either "Child Lock" or "V-Chip." The V-chip is the actual chip built into the television that blocks out certain television programming.
  2. Try a "factory reset" action... This should be somewhere in the TV menu system. However Please note that will clear everything, so you may need to re-program every things..the channels etc.
  3. Hold the lock key in the remote for few seconds . you will get the lock tool bar . you can unlock it there
  4. Hold the display button on the remote for 10 seconds.
  5. As a The last solution which is common for all TV sets..
    • Try to find the User manual for your television. The section In the manual about how to set the child lock feature will also explain how to unlock it.
    • Try a few "universal methods" for unlocking the child lock. Some televisions have a universal code built in for disabling the child lock --no matter what your code is. A commonly used code is "0000."
    • Unplug your television for at least 1 hour . The internal memory battery of the TV is what helps remember what your code. When TV is unplugged for an extended period of time, it clears the internal memory, which in turn will reset your child lock code back to "0000 " again...
if the problem still continues you have to email to : http://www.akaiusa.com/

Hope this helps!

Child lock on, TV off, No remote or manual=cannot turn TV back on

i found out on line in the owners manual that if u still have a remote control that came with the tv, u press the tv/av button and enter button at the same time to disable the child lock. New problem: u can't do it with a universal remote, even if its programmed to a magnavox tv. I called the 800 # to buy a remote control and the rep told me that it cost $50, not including the shipping and handling. so my husband put the tv in the car, brought an extension cord and took it to a local tv repairman who was kind enough to use his remote to remove the child lock for us. finally someone who is helpful for free. thanks to all the nice people out there!
