Your laptop uses a different FAT than your camera. Once you formatted it on your laptop it will never work in you camera - unless you have one of the expensive image recovery programs that allow you to reformat it for the camera.
Since this digital camera is an older model, it probably isn't compatible with 2GB memory cards. Older electronic devices including card readers, camcorders, MP3 players and even older laptops with built-in card readers won't be able to use higher-capacity cards. Try using a 1GB memory card in your camera and if it works, then 1GB is the maximum size of memory card you can use on that camera.
You have obviously tried soft reset but have you tried hard reset?
Before you do hard reset you have to do a back up and remove the memory card. You will lose all the data on your Jasjam and the device is reverted to factory settings. Hard reset is only useful for software related issues.
To do a hard reset Push 2 SOFT keys and reset at the same time.
soft keys are the keys just under the screen
