Magellan 3100 will not take a charge

You could have a defective power connection in your Magellan Maestro 3100 which will not allow you to charge the internal battery or power on your unit.
You may try to contact Magellangps.com or Autonav2000.com to see if they can provide you with repair service.
Might be cheaper to purhcase another Magellan Maestro than spend the money on repairs.

Try the car charger.

Make sure green light is on the car charger and let it plugged in for awhile, then hold the power button (up to ten seconds) until it starts..if that fails

The following Magellan 2000, 2200t, 2500, 3000, 3100, 3140, 3000, 3050, 4000, 4040, 4050, 5310 and the 6000 are known to have faulty dc connectors...if your Magellan gps is not charging or will not power up, its most likely the dc power port...

this could be happening for a few reasons but the most common is that its probably not charging.

before checking anything else, plug your 3100 in to a known good charger, then press and hold the power button for up to ten seconds till it starts.

if that fails, its likely not charging and i can tell you where ot get it repaired or by the power port if your able to solder it on the main board yourself.

if it starts, you can verifiy if its charging by going to the system settings then power options. the green indicator should be moving left to right. this indicates its charging.

if you disconnect the battery, your magellan should still work while plugged in if the power port is ok.

you cant charge a 3100 with the USB connection. most likely the power port is damaged and needs replaced. i repair those magellan gps if you need help. if i cant fix it there is no charge. [email protected]
