Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access your router you need to use a computer that is connected to it. Open a Browser then type 192.168.2.1 The Default password is smcadmin. Password is case sensitive. Click on Wireless and then select Security. You can now change the security settings of your router. You can also refer to the manual below.

I have a wps security router and my psp won't connect to it

As far as I know the Sony PSP supports WEP Wifi encryption only. As it will not work with your network. Open your routers settings and change the wireless security protocol from WPA to WEP. That should fix the problem.

My psp is detecting an access point but not allowing me to select it. What must I do?????

The access point must have security settings that are NOT COMPATIBLE with the PSP. You need to change the settings of the router (I would go with WEP) and it should work without issue.

My ssid says my Security says not supported .

WEP and WPA are the only types of Wireless Security supported on the PSP. If you have WEP2 or anything else on your wireless network, the PSP will not support it. You can change your wireless router's security to WEP if you want the PSP to connect to it.

Check the following page at Sony for more information:

http://us.playstation.com/support/answer/?a_id=24

Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) are security encryption protocols to provide secure wireless (Wi-Fi). These are common on most wireless access points available. You will need to contact the manufacturer of your wireless access point to determine which will work best for you when setting up your wireless network. Both of these protocols are supported by the PSP system and you will need to choose which protocol your wireless network has been configured with in order for the PSP to connect to your network.

Psp wont connect to wireless network

The problem lies within the type of security used for the wireless network.

The PSP cannot connect to some networks that use different types of security settings.

1. Check Network security settings
2. Make sure they are compatible with PSP wireless settings
3. Identify password for wireless network
4. Connect to wireless network from PSP

My psp won't connect to the internet. it says, a commection error has occured. a connection to the access point could not be established. check the security settings for the network and try again.

First of all check if your wireless router requires (WEP KEY) to establish a connection then you will have to put same (WEP KEY) in PSP WLAN security setting and if your wireless router is set without (WEP KEY) then in PSP WLAN security setting it should be set to None. kindly refer to the following image.3782ff8.png

How to get my pc to detect my device

First you have to setup you device to recognize you home network. Just turn it on and this process is for wireless networks of course.
You have to know the SSID of your network and then set that as
you PSP SSID as well, the other matter is whether or not your home network has WEP security which prevents others within the
distance of you home network from accessing it without your permission. If you do have WEP enabled then you wil have to input that WEP code into your PSP in order for it to be authenticated on your wireless network. I hope this works for you and good luck

IP adress dosent work.

You need to match the security settings on the Wifi router. I do not know what security is set up on your Wifi, so I cannot accurately solve this problem. I have my router set to WEP with a passcode. On the PSP, I tell the network setup that the wifi is WEP and put in a passcode to match the Wifi routers security. If you have the passcode wrong, the IP address part will fail. Just find out the security type and passcode, then set up the PSP's network connection to match.

Set up Internet access on PSP

IF YOU HAVE THE WEP SUCURITY, YOU CAN FIND THE CODE UNDER OR BEHIBD THE WIRELESS ROUTER iT WOULD SAY "WEP KEY"AND THEN IT WOULD SHOW YOU THE CODE.

On my PSP I can't play with him

On the left side of your PSP, there is a switch
b1f29df.jpg
This is the WLAN switch. Move it up to enable or down to disable it.

If thats not the problem, you may need to change your settings.
  • On the home screen (the place were you first turn on your psp without a disk), go to settings.
  • select "Network Settings"
  • then "AD Hoc Mode"
  • Select "automatic" for the channel and save.
If that doesn't work, your game may not be compatible with Ad-Hoc. Look for games that have Ad-hoc on the back of the case.
