I cannot connect my Belkin 54g to the internet at all. I followed the wizard and got the information from my ISP - user name and password. The wireless light works, the port shows that it working but the internet light will not light up and on the 'log in' page through the set up bit shows "internet not connected in red. I plugged my old router in and all works fine connecting to the internet. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Can't set up Belkin 54g Router with MTNL broadband

Samay,

You should reset your router to clear all information from it. The best procedure to fully clear your device would be to press the reset button with power on for 30 seconds; while continuing to press the reset button, remove power from the unit; and while continuing to press the reset button restore power for 30 seconds.

You should now be able to access the menus after the unit boots up with the default user name/password for the unit. If you do not know them, just Google [your router name] default user name and password. You can now set up the router to meet your requirements. There is a lot of information that will help you on the Internet, but having a clean booted router is important to start with.

Unable to install belkin n300 to sky wireless router, keeps asking for isp user name and password. sky wont give details

If your ISP requires a login for you to access the Internet, the router has to be able to pass that information to your ISP server, or it will not be able to access those servers. Your ISP should be well aware of this, as many people use routers for their home networks. The customer service section of your ISP should be able to provide you with this information. They would have had to have given this information to you at some time or you would never have been able to get on to the Internet. If you are having issues getting this information from your customer service people then perhaps you need to request a conversation with one of their supervisors. In all my 30 years of working with computers, and almost as many years of accessing the Internet, I have never heard of an ISP that would not provide you with your own login information. Perhaps it is time to change ISP's.

PLease help me. Belkin belkin 7bc1d7 is looking for the isp username and password. I called the isp and was told no username is needed to connect it. please help I dont know what to do

The only time you don't need a user name and password to connect to your broadband/adsl company is if they supply your phone/internet/tv by cable rather than by the telephone line. If this is the case, you would have a modem supplied by the company and you would simply plug your pc/router into this.

If your internet comes down your phone line, you would normally need a user name and password. Only they can tell you what it is.
