My printer has been printing & working fine for as long as I had it. I have been using refilled ink cartridges and it was still printing fine. Up until 2 days ago when I turned on my unit to print something out, it read unsupported cartridge. I have had the same cartridges in and was able to print anything without any problems-then out of the blue it is giving me a problem. What do you think could be causing it to say unsupported cartridge? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, unplugging and plugging the unit back in, and even removed and replaced both ink cartridges (& cleaned the cartridge with some rubbing alcohol) but still no success. Please help.

My Dell 924 has worked perfectly until a few days ago, it now tells me that the black cartridge is missing, I have cleaned the contacts on both the cartridge and the machine, changed the cartridges, uninstalled and re-installed the software and it is still the same. Is there anybody who knows what is wrong ?
I have just cleaned the resting plate inside my printer, allowed it to dry, re-fitted the cartridges and I still have the same message - black/photo cartridge missing. I have spent days now trying to fix this problem. Any suggestions on how to cure this problem, please.
I bought replacement cartridges at an Inkstop store and although the manual says these cartidges are compatible, the printer is giving me the error message that I have inserted an "unsupported cartidge". The black ink was getting so faint that I replaced the black ink cartridge before the printer told me I was low on ink. Now even though I put the old black cartridge in, I am getting a "left cartidge incorrect" message on the printer.
