How do you manually clean the dvd player laser reader?

The laser reader in the DVD player is dusty or stuck (Troubleshoot by searching google) OR Do a gentle clean on the DVD

It sounds as if your laser reader might be a little dirty, try opening the dvd player and cleaning the reader. That might help. (the cleaner for the reader can be purchased at Radio Shack or any electronics type of store).

Tries to play more than one DVD disc.Tries to play many DVD disc should be original DVD disc ok no DVD+R copying disc ok.If ur are still getting signal just saying loading signal awhile than say no disc show up, and u did playing it with many dvd original disc.Than the DVD player laser eye reader could be ditry.Tries websites like Amazon.com,Ebay.com to buy a DVD disc set that said like DVD players lasers eyes cleaners.Used it as directions said,if u still getting the same result mean ur DVD player laser eye reader it is dead,not worth repairing the DVD player if the DVD player laser eye reader it it dead,because the laser eye reader it is 90% important to the DVD player unit and the cost of it by replacing it will cost the same as a new DVD player unit.

Tries the tv DVD player,play it with many other DVD discs too?Some the disc u trying to play it might just be bad like the reading shinning laser surfaces are scratches,smushes or grims and dirts on the disc reading surfaces?Tries washes the DVD disc,with some dish washing liquid,dries it with a cloth wait like two mins.Try the DVD disc again.If it have problems,but all DVD discs or with many other DVD discs too?Tries websites like Ebay.com or Amazon.com buy a Disc cleaning kit put Disc in the DVD player to play it have 50/50 chances to clean the DVD player laser eye reader.If not more like the DVD player laser eye it is dead.Tv still work fine?Don't take the tv aparts,tries to clean it laser eye manally,because,if u putting tv back together again might causes tv problems too.Just buy a DVD player unit plug it in the tv and play ur DVD Discs.DVD player extenal unit it very cheap these day.Don't take chances,like take ur tv aparts.

Still under warrenty exchange for a new one or getting it warrenty repair.Happen to all DVD Disc?If some disc only,disc might have scatches,cracks or dirt or grums on it prevent the laser eye from reading it.The DVD player might have dirty Laser bubble eye reader.Tries take some Q tips dipping rubbing alcahols clean the laser bubble eye reader.

Try cleaning the lens with a CD/DVD cleaning kit that you can buy at a local electronics store. If you have tech skills, open the player up and clean the glass eye reader lens with some rubbing alcohol using a Q-tip. Make sure the DVD you are using is not too scratched up. If it still don't play after you have cleaned it and tried a different DVD disc then replace the optical reader drive if it is still under warranty

Its time to clean the reader, thats a little laser eye in side the unit. that gets dusty, buy a cleaned disk, follow instructions, I bet ya this helps. DFD

I am sorry for just now responding to your request. I would go ahead and clean the optical reader as this is the most likely problem. If you listen really close when the disc is loaded and it appears to spin up then the problem should not be your spindle motor. Clean the optical reader first and attempt to replay the dvd. Also check to make sure the dvd is not scratched or damaged in any way that would prevent the laser from picking it up and reading the disc. I have the same problem. I opened the DVD player up and "blew out" dust. Still does not recognize that I have a disc in. HELP

I experienced the same dreaded H03 error code recently. The fix was simple:

Open the DVD lid. In the center is the black plastic spindle. To the right of the spindle is the laser reader which slides from side to side.

When my player was in error mode, the laser reader was stuck in the far right position on the track. To fix the problem, gently, but firmly push the laser reader to the right until it clicks in to proper position. For mine, I pushed it to the right about an eighth of an inch before it clicked.

Insert a disc, and turn the player on. This should fix the problem, at least it did with mine.
