Hi neither of my computers is recognizing my voice recorder. My laptop has xp and I have used it before, but now its not working. I thought it may have been a prob with my new desk top since I have windows 7, but neither computer is finding my recorder, and both have the software downloaded. I need these files for finals!

Your best bet is to play the recordings through the headphone connector to a pc audio line-in connector and capture the audio using something like Audacity. Then output them using audacity to mp3 to play on your mp3 player.

These units are notorious for their failing USB feature.

My PC can't recognize my Panasonic IC recorder RR-US500

Hi there,
Which operating system are you using? This recorder has known issues with windows vista and windows 7 as well as Mac OS.
If you're using one of the above windows operating systems, try right clicking on the installer (setup.exe) file, select "properties". When the properties windows opens, select the compatability tab, and choose windows XP SP3 from the drop down menu, as well as click the box next to "run this program as administrator". That should run the installer as though you are running windows XP, and it should work.

Coby Voice Recorder CXR-190 wont work with MAC - any solutions?

Coby only claims the CXR-190 is compatible with Windows Vista/XP/2000. I'm afraid your best solution is to use a Mac-compatible voice recorder.
If you need the recordings currently on the machine, copy them onto a PC and then transfer them to your Mac.

I own an Olympus DS-4000 and the software it comes with is not recognizing (detecting) the device upon connecting it through the cradle or directly from the device to my computer using the OEM transfer...

Olympus uses a Device detector utility to detect the recorder. Some other applications can keep the recorder from being detected. Check for Adobe Download manager running in the tray. If it is, disable and it may work. Some printer controle managers also can cause this not to work.

Also, check if the recorder is listed as a removable drive under My Computer.

I would run compatibility check. It sounds like not compatible with Vista.

There is a specific download for this. Your best bet is contacting Yahoo and asking them where to find it.

JNC Voice Recorder USB-350

It does not, and you cannot - I checked. I'm not being mean, but Vista is incompatible with MANY, MANY products, which is why XP has been the standard for over 5 years now. This voice recorder was made before even XP became the standard. You will need an older computer to get it to work.

Transfer recording from tape recorder to computer

Use a cable running from the headphone jack on the recorder into your PC microphone jack. Then you can capture the audio using Windows MovieMaker software that comes with Windows XP. I have done this and it worked perfectly.
