Re-Install the drivers from the system disk that came with your computer. If no disk, go to the website and download the drivers for your model computer.
(1) go to Hp.com - load load the necessary Xp drivers for your unit - burn them to cd - then aquire a replacement hdd - install Xp on that - install the required drivers and walla you have one hdd with vista and another with XP
You need to install the drivers for all those devices. Which you will get from the HP Website but the problem you may have is that this laptop was only available with Vista so there may not be any drivers available to XP.
