Hi.

The board you are talking about is called Z-sus. Its role is to sustain power to the plasma panel. If the Z-sus board fuses keep blowing, then the board is usually shorted, and the repair is done replacing the board.
In some case a defective PSU can cause the Z-Sus fuses blowing.
When the Z board is failing, the Y board must also be tested.
The Z board should be the same as this one. Check model and test the part before purchasing.

Regards.

Ginko.

Hi:
This is the X-systain board replace this board and your problem will be solved. The part number can be found on a white sticker some where on the board. Get the number and google it or enter it on E-Bay because alot of shops sell these boards when the get units with bad screens. Or try www.shopjimmy.com for a new board.

Tv sounds like it turns on but no pic no sound and none of the buttons on the set work but there is static on the screen for a sec. and then it seems to be turned off

You have several bad capacitors in your TV. There are in the deflection side of the board. I think there are three here. And check the vertical section, as there are three bad caps. You will need an ESR meter to find and replace these capacitors. The older Zenith are known for shut down due to weak and bad caps. Hope this clues you into the fix. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

A buzzing noise coming from inside the tv but still buzzes when on mute but doesnt buzz when tv guide is up on the screen or when a channel is showing what time it starts

plasma tvs buzz a lot, depending on screen brightness. its probably normal but if you can hear loudly over your volume, may be a bad board or plasma panel. from behind tv, left side = y board, right side = z board, middle = power board ---- bad panel can buzz from anywhere... if you hear all parts buzzing, its probably normal plasma noise

Multiple vertical lines on screen.

Hi I am Vortash Although this is trademarked as a Zenith the manufacturer of this set is LG and the prefix P42W46X is one of their set product numbers and is actually one of their RU-42W46X 10/11/12 -series televisions . The problem you are describing may be either incorrect display setting or incorrect picture fomat letterbox .. 4.3 pan or 16.9 widescreen I am guessing you do not have the manual for this set and I have found one on this site http://www.safemanuals.com under the LG P46W46X prefix FREE it may help you to solve this.
Another problem it may be is a power supply fault , components under heat conditions cann change value and restrict power flow causing many different faults this is particuarly true of semiconductors prior to failiure ..Try adjusting the set according to the manual and if this does not cure the problem I am afraid you are going to have to get the set looked at by an engineer . Regards Vortash

Hi all i have a samsung 42inch plasma and i have sound , no pic ?

Your info doesn't indicate if you have a good onscreen display or not. If you do the problem is highly likely to be on the IO board on the rear patch panel of the tv. Replace this board and it should take care of the problem.

If you don't have a good on screen display the two common problems are either on the power supply module or the digital control module. Samsung is known to have problems on both these modules and an electronics technician should be able to remove these modules to inspect for cracked solder joints, or out of tolerance electrolytic filters.

If these conditions do not exist on either board then the power supply board should be replaced first before replacing the digital control board. Search for a vendor that will offer you a full refund will a small restocking fee if the board does not take care of the problem.

Fixing the Zenith 50" plasma

The problem is probably a shorted Z Sustain board located on the right side of the TV when viewed from the rear. The board sells for about $220.00. The pop sound comes from the speakers because the audio circuit is not properly muted before power down.
