Hello, We have the Norstar T7316E phone system. We are having a problem with when customers call in and get the voicemail they get the original greeting, press 0 to leave a message. When they press 0 it rings 4 times then brings another message and then the tone to leave a message. The whole process is quite lengthy. How do I fix this?

On the set displaying the message enter feature #871.

Sounds like you have a BCM or BCM 50 system. Try feature 983 log: 738662 and pswd:266344

Depending on the type of voicemail you have It can be accomplished by calling in to the office and when the main greeting starts playing press **, the administrator mailbox number, the password and the pound key (the administrator password must be changed from 0000). Once in the mailbox press either 9 or 99 at this point you can re record the main greeting.

u have to delete all mailboxes and recreate it...

Go to programming of Norstar which will be F**266344 password will be 266344.
Dispaly shows u terminal and extensions.
press show
then next display will show u capabilities.
Press show then next display will show u FWD no answer.press show then next.and change the ringing as per ur requirement.

Call the phone system.

When you hear the voicemail greeting,
Press "* *" (thats 2 stars)

then just like sitting in front of the phone.

sounds like the voicemail is rebooting or was unpluged, make sure the call pilot is pluged in and the lights are on. i had a similar problem once and the power supply to the callpilot went bad. once i replaced it it came back up and worked fine.

You will need to dial into the system admin of the voicemail

the password is dependant on how many digits your extensions use. 1020000 for 3 digit and 10020000 for 4 digit, 120000 for 2 digit.
go through the screens

Mailboxes, modify, scroll to password and press change.
Will reset to 0000.

I am not a phone installer and we have another vendors' phone system here at our work.

It can be *extremely* difficult setting up these phone systems, even with a manual.
