I have error 201 everytime i start gran tourismo 5

I don't know - look. Seriously, modern bikes (like this one) don't usually come with chain guards and have no attachments for one anyway, weight being the evil thing to be avoided at all costs by those who think a few ounces here or there is going to prevent them from riding like Lance Armstrong. (Of course, training harder and losing many pounds of body weight is NEVER an option, right?)

When my 94 Regal GS frequently wouldn't start for 30 minutes to an hour after being driven, it was the crankshaft positioning sensor that needed to be replaced. I also replaced the harmonic balance pulley. The car ran more smoothly and started everytime.

Error code:201 occurs due to USB conflict or software not running properly....

Solution#1: Take out the scanner from USB port... shut down the computer.... then restart the computer and plugin your USB plug in anyother USB port(not the ealier one).. Then check if that works.

Solution#2: Click on Start > Click on Run > Type Services.msc press ok.... on the services window check for "Still Image Service" right click on it and select properties .. then click on stop then start(if it is already stoped then click on start).... also make sure the Startup Type: Automatic....

Your internet connection may be firewalled. That is something you will have to configure on your PC

Either that or PS3 marketplace is down

Ensure PS3 is up to date, V.2.41. Also GT5 Prolouge Spec 2 should be intalled. This should clear any bugs in the system and sort GT5. A new update for GT5 is out on the 1st August.

are you using a standard card, or an aftermarket card with increased capacity like an action replay card. i remember gt4 dosent like non sony cards.

are you actively saving settings, the autosave setting sometimes resets itself.

This can sometimes be caused by the actual PS2 media. PS2 discs usually have either a silver or blue bottom. Silver is DVD media and Blue is CD media. Sometimes the laser mechanism gets a little wonky and can't read one type or another. Typically, older games had the blue discs (Kinetica and Gran Turismo are some of the oldest games on the system) I would check the color of your existing games and see if that is an issue. Another possible idea is that you just got a bad disc, it doesn't happen very often but it does pop up from time to time.
