Hello

Using HDMI

Connect RF cable from wall to input at back of the cable box.

Set output switch on set-top box to CH 3 or 4 and tune TV to same

channel.

In some cases, cable box will automatically tune to channel 3 or 4. Just change

channels until picture appears.

Connect cable box to TV using HDMI cable.

Note : If the accessory device has DVI output only, use a DVI to HDMI adapter

cable to connect to the HDMI connector. You need to also connect the audio

cable to L and R AUDIO jacks. Next, go to Menu => Setup => Source

=> Analog Audio In => and select HDMI.

Using RF Cable

Connect RF cable from wall to input at the back of the cable box.
Use second RF to connect the cable box to the TV's antenna input.

Philips md#32PT9100D/37 will not turn on only

Hi

Your tv set may have a short circuit both in the power supply and horizontal output stage. The first approach I suggest is to check the rectifier fast diode in the line supply (90/100V) for short. This model is prone to burn this component and may be associated with some problem in the horizontal output or even in the RGB output.
I would like to point out that this task require a technician as should be supported with a schematic of this model.
If this is helpful, I shall be glad.

I would like to hook up my philips hts3544 to my hdtv. i have a satelite receiver in between . i cant always get the hts to provide volume for my tv . can you advise me how to

Manuals answer most of those types of questions.

SAT IN BETWEEN THEM? WHY?? HOW? Treat the SAT as an A/V audio source.

Provide "volume" for the TV?? What's that mean? No sound or no control of it?

Most TV's have multiple Video inputs. The SAT should go STRAIGHT to it. The digital audio, if available on a coaxial digital output, SHOULD be run to the HTS's coax digital input.

The TV speakers will never be under control of the HTS. TheTV volume would handle that end. What's the point? Are the TV speakers BETTER?
The HDMI cable CAN carry the audio to it. As the manual says,

"Make sure that the audio output setting is not turned off. See 'Setup Menu Options - { Audio Setup Page -
HDMI Audio }' for details."

Go to http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/h/ and drill down to the HTS3544/37 directory for the manual. The alpha directories are slow loading. Be patient.

After turning of the TV for a few minutes, it won't turn ON. The power LED turns green for a second and then becomes red and flashes, Philips Model 32PF7321D/37

grodmx74, You or electronics technician will need to find the "thermally-intermittant-hair-line-fracture" of a component soldered to the switch-mode-power-supply printed circuit board with aid of large magnifing glass or use a 10x or 20x inspection microscope, and then resolder the connection. 12fixlouie

I think its something on the picture frame board or on the line output board. I would sway to the line output simply because I think but not sure that error code is linked to the line output stage plus when you unplugged the cable the voltage seems within parameters. Good luck.

Please help me!!

There are a few possibilities.
1)You can connect a red and white AV cable (or the red and white portion of a red, white and yellow cable) from the TV Audio OUTPUT to the "Audio In/TV" portion of the HTS (NOTE: Many TV's do not have an Audio OUTPUT).

2)You can connect a red and white AV cable (or the red and white portion of a red, white and yellow cable) from the Audio OUTPUT of your cable or satellite box to the "Audio In/TV" portion of the HTS.

Note: Using a red and white cable may not give you sound on all 5 speakers.

3)Get a digital audio or SPDIF cable and run it from the TV, Cable or Satellite Box's Digital Audio OUT to the "DIGITAL IN" of the HTS. This will give you the best sound quality. When using this (or any of the other) type of connection, press SURR until you get sound from all 5 speakers.

For the Xbox, try hooking a red/white audio cable from the Xbox into the Audio IN/AUX on the back of the HTS, and then switching the source on the home theater to AUX.
