I have a 1 year old Panasonic Plasma TC-P50X1 that last night the kids where watching and said a big ball or sparks came out the back of it and shut off. This morning I plugged the power cord in the wall socket it made a click noise but did not power up and the red light is blinking in a 10 times pattern. Can you tell me what this means and is it something I can do myself. Thank You, Jeanne

Could be the SC, but also might be either the SU/ SD causing the SC to go into protect. Pretty easy to determine, if you look at the SU SD and see any holes or burn cracks that would be the problem. Let me know if this works or can help further.
Try unplugging it completely for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Plug it back in. If it still won't come on, it's likely taken a power surge and popped a fuse or power supply, which means a trip to the service center.
Flashing error codes could be the Direct tv box itself.Because tvs have problems within itself don't flashes error codes on the tv screen, the problems, just show up.Tries tv and Direct tv satellite box unplug, replug it back like about an hour later.By letting the tv resetting itself back to the factory setting and the Direct tv box updates it softwares data's.The problems should be solved,if have the same problems, first call Direct tv for a replacement box,see how it work out.Than turn ur attention to the tv.
the audio output on the back of the set goes to the audio inputs on the stereo.
depending on age it may have aux,cd,tape, vcr, video inputs.
they will all work,as they are made for a 300mv to 1 v signal.
the one that will get overdriven severely is the phono input, never use that one except for a turntable.it is made for a 3 to 5mv signal.
a moving coil input is even more sensitive, about.1/2 mv.
