I have a very old HP LC3 netserver. It was in my office, and I have moved it to my home. I would like it to communicate with my printer in order to print out documents. Can it be connected directly to my...

Add the printer to the wireless router as another node via DHCP. Then add the printer by the IP address. Your server does not have wireless so it will need to be connected to the router via network cable.

Or, you attach the printer directly to the server via parallel port (RS-232) cable. Or upgrade the server with an USB port, and connect it that way. gl

My lexmark x6650 printer will not connect back online

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. If your printer is connected via USB cable to your computer, simply disconnect the printer from your computer, reboot your pc and unplug/re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When everything turns back on, reconnect the printer into the pc. Wait for the computer to fully recognize the USB connection. Try to print again.

I have just installed my 901 and all is well -- except for the fact that it repeatedly says it is not online.

How did you connect your printer - wireless or via the USB cable? If wireless, check the status of the WiFi light - off, orange or green? If USB connected, make sure the cable is properly inserted and secured on the back of your printer and into the computer. A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source and reboot your pc.

My printer and pc have stopped communicating. The message on my computer tells me to choose a printer. I click on the Lexmark and it says ready but there is no location and I can't click on anything else.

What is the operating system of your computer? How is the printer connected to your computer, wireless or hardwired via the USB cable? Make sure the print spooler of your computer is enabled.

Hi. Hope you got it working fine now on your Windows 7. If not, go to Start Menu > Devices and Printers > right click on the Lexmark print object > Troubleshoot. Make sure the printer is on and is still connected to the computer via the usb cable.

Hi,
There is not wireless netwrok card is HP LJ P2015dn, However as i can understand you r using External Wireless Router or Wireless network or jet-direct card if u r able to work fine on USB than printer printing mechanism is working fine.
If u connect the printer via wired network connection and it keeps on loosing IP address than it may be problem with onboard network card of the printer.
If printer keeps on loosing IP Address than try upgrading the firmware of the printer.
To check the firmware and IP Address of the printer print a configuration page by pressing and holding down green button for 6 to 7 seconds

My printer will not communicate with the computer?

Try connecting the USB cable directly to the computer not via a HYB.

Try another USB port on the computer.

If that doesn't solve the problem there is most likely a problem with the printer.
