If you have an HD receiver you will want to use one of two types of cables; you can use component cables which have five ends red, blue, green, red and white, or you can use an HDMI cable which will have one flat connection. If you have a standard definition receiver you will want to use RCA cables these have three ends red yellow white. The connections will be labeled on the television as well as the receiver. Once you get this connected hit the input/source button on your TV set if you're using RCA cables you want the TV set to video 1 or video 2. If you're using an HDMI cable then set the TV to HDMI 1or 2 using the input /source button. If you use Component cables set the TV to Y/PB/PR or component 1/2.

I just need a diagram to show me how to hook the dvd/vcr up to my television. I have Dishnetwork as well. I un-hooked and now I can't get a picture.

Not knowing the model of the TV its hard to tell you how to hook it up. Howeever let's assume that yu TV has an auido in and a composite video input. it it does is should have three RCA jacks on the back...one red, one white and one yellow.

Assuming Dishnetwork is being used as a analog video.

Connect the VCR/DVD player via a patch cable ( usually has three cable all color coded, red, white & yellow) Red and White section is used for the audio Left and Right. The yellow cable is video.

Connect the audio out of the VCR/DVD player to the audio input on the TV. Do the same with the videoout of the VCR/DVD to the TV may be marked "Composite Video". Now connect your Dish Network receiver RF Out to the TV. This should be a coaxal cable.

Now when you want VRC/DVD use your remote and select input. Some older TV's have the aux input just before Ch 2. Some remotes have an input button.

once you have aux inpsut selected turn on the dvd and play your movie to view Dish go to Ch 3 or 4 depending on how your TV and system is set up.

Again not knowing the model TV you have, this is a general hook up.

Thank you Let us know if it helps

Lg lht854 does not work tv sound

Ok your dish network wont play through the LHT854? Which Dish network receiver do you have 211, 311, 625, 612, 722? From the owners manuel for the LHT854 it looks like you can only hook up the audio from another source by an optical cable, so how is the LHT854 hooked up to the dish network receiver?

Hooking Up Panasonic sc-ht670 home theater to Dish DVR 625 and Panasonic TH-42PHD7UY Plasma TV

You will need to run a set of audio cables from the TV1 output on the rear of the 625 directly to one of the three audio inputs on the surround system. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

No Audio Out through the Optical OUT jack

First and foremost when the chance comes along buy a Harmony remote. Your spouse will love the simplification. A couple of things, On the tv with the optical hose connected and the other end in your hand, do you see the light. Its not a laser and eye safe. Should be a red glow. If not, implies two things the tvs optical is bad or it needs to be enabled via tv menu audio settings. If you see the red glow, then its a protocol issue. Verify your tv is setup on the proper audio mode that your receiver is wanting to see. Probably PCM. I am not directly farmiliar with the tv, but using the dish receiver as a reference (you know its working) set the audio options on the tv similar to the dish receiver. IE pcm, dts, etc.. Let me know thanks
