Question about Epson - PowerLite S1+ Multimedia Projector

We have an Epson Powelite projector mounted in a classroom and just recently it is projecting everything with a purple tint to it. Before that the colors were not as vivid as when we first installed it. Any suggestions.

Could be as simple as a tarnished pin on the signal input connector. Remove and replace signal [vga] connector at projector end and source end. That may do it. This has worked for me on numerous occasions at our school district. I'm their tech.

An image is produced in these projectors by passing color through three different LCD panels. One is a Red, one a blue, and the last one a purple. It sounds like the green panel is damaged. The only way to tell is to take it to an Epson authorized service center.

Epson 822+ Projector still dim after replacing bulb

I'm not familiar with your specific model, but are the units LCD or DLP? What I've seen in LCD projectors used in schools, museums, etc. that are left-on for several hours per-day, is that the UV filters in the optical blocks will fail. They usually change to an amber-brown color and block most of the light. It's the equivalent to putting sunglasses on. Do the units also exhibit a greenish-yellow tint instead of proper color?

My Epson EX7200 was purchased May 3rd and until recently has been working well. Now the projection has a blue tint to it

I would recommend contacting Epson support. Your projector should have a 1-yr manufacture warranty, and they can verify that once you give them the serial number of the projector. In the meantime check your computer cable (if that's the input you're using) for bent pins. You can also apply the "Reset All" option, which restore all the settings back to factory default. However, in some cases the blue LCD panel might have gone out also.

Why is my projector suddenly projecting pink?

Is it entirely pink or does everything have a purplish tint? Check the settings. If you are connected using component or VGA, make sure that the unit is set to RGB rather than YPrPb.

Update this with what you find.

Thanks,
Dan

The color on my Epson Powerlite S3 powerpoint projector is very purple; not the true colors at all. I have tried adjusting it using the color, tint, brightness, etc. adjustments but it never gets to the...

Two possible solutions:

1) The video mode is set to Component/RGB instead of VGA.

2) The cable you have may have a break inside of it.

Let me know if you find anything.
