I tryied the pattern to many times and locked my g1 and the google sign will not work wat do i do?

The factory reset removed the Google account data from your phone. When first setting up a phone, you pair the phone with a google account. On the off chance that was not the first thing you did after the factory reset, you may have to hard reset it again and then go through setup immediately to pair a Google account with the phone. If you have not paired the Google account with the phone during setup, you will not have Google access. If the setup offers a restore from backup (and you did have backup enabled previously), you can give that a go. It would restore settings.

But before you do that, you could try the following. I don't think they will work for you but the powers that be might smile upon you.

Try entering your user account name and when prompted for a password, enter the word "null". Afterward, set up a new pattern.

Alternatively, The G2/Hero's 'Forgot Pattern?' screen asks you to enter the Gmail address you signed in with and its password.

Here is another trick rather hard to describe as I can't write it in this forum. You know the letter x. Try writing it 3 times before the @ sign in the following two items below.

If you enter @gmail.com and then the password, then it will say it's not right. You need to enter @googlemail.com and then it will accept it the password, purportedly.

Exactly how are you locked out? If you're stuck on the lock-out screen with a lockout pattern that you've forgotten? If that's the case, the G1 manual indicates the following:
"When you fail to draw the correct unlock pattern on the screen after five attempts, you will be prompted to wait for 30 seconds before you can try again. If you forgot your screen unlock pattern, touch Forgot pattern. You will be prompted to sign in using your Google Account name and password, and create a new screen unlock pattern before the Home screen displays."

maybe you should sell it or get a new one or fix it

Right now the G1 is having issues logging into the phone after you get locked out using a screen pattern. Just try to remember to write down the username and password you used the first time that way you won't lose the information on your phone by having to reset it. Also make sure you are typing it carefully and make sure to enter your whole gmail address too (Ex. [email protected]). Also if you have had to change your password from a computer after you logged into your G1, it does not take the password change. A way to avoid that is to login to the G1 again. Sync your contacts to gmail first (Settings > Data Synchronization > Menu > Sync Now). Then go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Google Apps > Clear Data. To sign in again go to Settings > Data Synchronization and it will give you the option to create an account or sign in.

1. Turn the G1 off. If it’s frozen on, take the battery out and put it back in the unit.
2. Hold the Home and Power keys down at same time for about 25 seconds. You will see a yellow triangle screen with exclamation point in the middle.
Now to wipe the device clean:
3. Press Alt+L.
4. Press Alt+W for a factory reset.
5. Press the Home and Back keys again for about 25 seconds.
The device should then reset again and the hard reset is complete.

Attempt to enter the lock pattern 5 times.
Wait 30 seconds, then tap "forgot pattern?".
Enter your Gmail account name and password.
Sign in!

T-mobile is the only wireless provider that will even work with this phone....so kinda a no brainer....;)

if you had too many incorrect pattern attemps, the handset will automatically lock you out of your handset....if thats the case, the only thing left to do, is either go to the link i have below and trying to restore the forgotten username and/or password....just answer the questions the webside asks for and you can log in again....

if that fails you will have to reset your handset and create a new login with your phone.

the handset will need to be powered off, then press and hold the house and the red buttons at the same time until you see a triangle with a yellow "!" inside....when you see this screen release those keys and slide open the keypad and press the "ALT" and "W" keys at the same time. the handset will turn off and power on again and walk you through the setup. here you can either attempt to sign in again with the underscore or you can create a new account.

*******careful, any new numbers you added since you had the g1 will be lost if you cannot log in again with the same username and password******
