The camera sells for $49.95 at Amazon.com.....the new screen is 59.95 and you need the expertise to install it. I personally would start looking to upgrade to a much better camera.

You have a couple choices. Replace the LCD screen with a new or used one. Replace the camera, and sell this one on a site such as Ebay for parts, as is or repair. Repairing this camera may not be worth the cost of repairs, if you do not know how to do it or have the know how.
you can find part on Ebay under cameras for parts or repairs. Look r717, but also look into m305, m307, m407, and m417 cameras. They all use the display screen.

Not sure if this will solve it but many times such problems occur from 2 reseaons
A) loose parts in the battery compartment - causing cutting electricity. See if you can detect any problem there.
B) when the memory card is damaged or not well placed. Try running it with an alternative memory and see if the problem reoccurs.
