Mine does the same thing down on the pump housing (bottom left when facing the back of the washer). It is always loose change. I use an industrial 2 part expoxy (Devcon fastmetal puddy). Remove the pump by elevating the back of the machine (careful not to have it tip forward) around 8". Remove the three mounting screws that disconnect the complete pump. Remove the two hose clamps and disconnect the two hoses. Use a phillips screw driver to remove the black housing from the pump. Clean the broken area well make sure it's dry. Apply the two part epoxy (or marine repair as previously mentioned). I'm fixing mine as we speak. I put mine in the oven at around 150F for a little while to make sure the epoxy is fully cured.
If it comes out by the motor on left side it is def the seal.....if you are somewhat pretty easy to take apart .........................finding the replacement part is my prob........its the seal between the the metal drum and the plasctic tub im no expert and def not a good speller but pretty easy fix if you can find part
Facing the rear on the bottom left side, mine was leaking bad also, and it turned out to be a small hole on the black drain pump housing that's connected to bottom of tub (Black plastic bowl with 2 hose connections that covers the impeller). The problem was that loose change found it's way into the housing where the impeller + metal objects = hole in plastic housing and impeller was also missing one of it's 4 blades........ The hole was a little smaller than a marble and the fix was Goop Marine Glue! Works fine 3 months and going strong though bleach may eat away the glue in time, but it may not because that stuff is resistant to almost anything!
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I'm sorry but, if you cannot see where it is leaking from, you can appreciate that it is virtually impossible for anybody on this forum to remotely guess exactly from where it is leaking without being there and looking ;-0(
I fear that you only real option is another service call UNLESS you can work out where the leak is and tell us.
Sorry again and good luck,
John C
Disconnect machine from water and electric plug, remove from area to a clear space where you can lay machine down on it's back, or side. Visually inspect the underside all your hose connections and hose condition. See that all hoses are completely pushed on and clamps are getting a good solid clamp. If not, you would need a decent set of pliers or adjustable locking pliers (channel locks) to squeeze down on the clamp to move it into the correct position. I noticed that one small elbow hose the rubber material was very thin. It looked like it would wear out in a few years.
We've had other problems with this washer, like pennies, dimes, nickles which somehow slipped to the outside of the basket and got down underneath getting sucked up into the pump, horrendous clanging & banging noise. I pulled the basket myself and corrected this problem but am still mad it happened in the first place. So.. make sure all coins / change is removed from pockets before washing !!!! Good luck.
is it leaking from the left side? Mine was and found out it was the soap dispenser. So had to replace the pump because of dime AND the soap dispenser because in manufacturing it was glued badly back together instead of just replacing the part on manufacture line. Bought it at Sears and neither they nor Maytag were any help! cost me several hundred dollars to repair a washer that was only a year old. Now dryer is not drying! Ugh what a money pit :(
I allso have this problem. The store guy said that it would be the pump, but its no.I layed on the flore watching it with a flash light and I saw it coming from the moter ,or more like the side of the moter. All i can guess is that there is a seal by the hub? At least thats what i am hopping fore.I know it is his question but he may have the same problem.Cant find a seal on the parts list though.
