Thought my battery charger had a problem so I bought a new Energizer charger with 2200 mAh batteries. I can take about 8 pictures and my battery light is flashing! I spent $25 on something that wasn't the problem to start with. UGH this is ANNOYING!!!!!

Same issue, charger flashing red light.
    Battery won't charge.

Why hasn't anyone found a solution to this yet?!

    hi guys,

i thought my FE310 is having problem but seems like it is a known problem to all user. bought it when it was first launched with high price. not even 2mth, price dropped steeply after the FE320 is out. bad choice.

i hope olympus will come out with a new firmware to solve this battery problem...

Hi, I have had the same problem with the battery not working.  I have changed batteries several times, with no change.  I bought the camera when I was pregnant so I could have a camera in my bag to take spontaneous photos of my baby but was disappointed at the birth and ever since because the battery is not dependable! I took it into the shop and was informed there could be a $90 charge if there is no mechanical problems... :-((

My Olympus charger for the LI 10B battery does not light and charge the battery. Can the charger be fixed or do I need to buy a new one? By the way, my camera is Olympus C5000. Thank you.

I would say that you need a new charger. Standard chargers that come with digital cameras will eventually deteriorate depending on how often you use it. However, it could also be a battery issue, as batteries eventually will die even if they are rechargeable. I would try the charger with a different battery and see if it works, and if not, then you will know that the problem is with the charger.

Brand new battery won't hold charge. Camera is three years old. I bought an extra battery when I bought the camera. They both seemed to go bad at the same time, so I recently bought two new lithium...

if this happens even to new batteries, it may no longer be an issue with the batteries, but it can be an issue with the camera itself. check the maximum number of shots that the camera can take with the batteries per its specification. if it should produce more, it would be a good ide ato check with Canon to have the camera checked.

Even with new batteries and they go dead before I take 3 pictures

Yes, there is definitely a fault with your camera.  You should be able to return it for a replacement.  I wouldn't experiment too much with batteries in this camera. batteries discharging this quickly are likely to overheat, causing unmentionable catastrophe.

Nikon coolpix 2100 camera won't stay on

I've been having problems with the batteries and the camera refusing to start even with fresh batteries. I bought loads of new rechargable batteries and have finally found some that work. Duracell rechargables. Theyr'e brilliant and keep their charge for ages despite continuous use of the camera! Last summer I managed to take 975 photos before the batteries finally decided to give up!
