SanDisk 8GB Ultra 15MBs SDHC SD Class 4 Memory Card for Samsung CL5 CL50 H710W HZ15W HZ25W i10 Logo
Anonymous Posted on Mar 08, 2011

I bought a 8gb class 4 sandisk sdhc card, it worked fine for a few minutes. I transferred my pictures off my blackberry onto it and it still worked. Then a few minutes later I cannot access my media card on my blackberry. I turn it off then back on and it tells me my card needs to be formatted, I plug it into my laptop it acts as though it does not need to be formatted so I take my pictures off of it as quickly as possible then sure enough a few minutes later my laptop is saying the media card is not formatted. When I right-click format it tells me the formatting failed. How do I fix this? I do not mind if I have to format it as long as it works.

This question is posted in the digital camera section and I think we are taking about a BlackBerry Phone. If it a phone you are attempting to you that wicked high tech SDHC class 4 memory card in I believe that's the problem. Your phone just doesn't have the software to support that massive card.

It's the phone programing not compatible with the SDHC card. Another thing also is you need to format a memory card in the camera/device you are going to us it in. Formatting the memory card in the computer and then putting it in the camera/device will just cause an eternity of errors.

Did you go into camera options on you BB and make you switched from the BB internal memory to media card?

other then that I'd say the card is beyond the capabilities of the BB

Ah, I googled this website. It was a link to a similar question regarding a camera, I asked a question without thinking about the section I was in. The media card displayed is not what I have re-read my question. What I have is not listed on here and that was the closest thing to mine. I did not realize I could format it on the BB itself, so I am trying that now, but it looks as though my phone has froze.

Frozen phone remove the back remove the battery let stand for a few moments and then re-install the battery. The phone will go thorugh its own start up and security check and a bunch of other things and then come on. let it finish loading all its stuff and then you can go play again.

I did re-read your question and the "I bought a 8gb class 4 sandisk sdhc card" is in the first sentence, what I'm saying is the phone doesn't have the capacity for to read that size of a card best I think you'll do is a 2gig SD card. Of course someone else will disprove that and say a 4gig SD card but the short story is the card is beyond the capacity of the phone.

What I said about the camera option is that there is an internal memory and you need to physically change the default setting to read to the "Media Card"

8GB CENTON SDHC memory card - class 4 - worked okay first day. Removed card to transfer pics to computer. Did fine. When inserted card back in camera JVC-PICSIO GC-FM2BU, got "Memory Card Error"...

Sounds like you forgot to use the "safely remove hardware" when you removed the card from the computer. Also, never format a card in a computer and then expect it to work in a camera. You can try to format it a few more times in the camera but if not successful, then you should think about getting an new card.

Sandisc makes cards in various speeds or "classes". For videos, it's best to use a class 6 or better card. Sounds like your new 8GB card is a class 4 or lower.

SanDisk ULTRA II 8GB won't read when installed in a laptop. Works fine in the Digital camcorder. Trying to import the footage on to a Fujitsu tablet laptop (12 months old). Reads the standard 2Gb memory...

No, it's a hardware issue. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card (the HC stands for High Capacity), but the card reader in your machine is clearly only compatible with the older type SD cards. SDHC devices will accept SD cards, but devices designed solely for SD cards cannot read or format SDHC cards.

There is no firmware update for this, your only fix is to buy an external reader compatible with SDHC cards for connection via a USB socket. Most new readers are fully SDHC compliant, but check the specs for shelling out your hard-earned...

SDHC Card 4 GB SanDisk will not format. get

The Z740 uses SD cards, not SDHC cards. SDHC cards will physically fit into the card slot but are not compatible. It's a hardware incompatibility, not updatable in firmware. You'll have to stay with 2GB and smaller SD cards.

Canon PowerShot SD 630 Digital Elph "Memory Card Error"

Hi,
I'm sorry to tell that PowerShot SD 630 does not support SDHC cards over 2 gig.
If you want the camera to take a card over 2 gig then you are stuck standard SD cards.
The other camera does support the card because it's a higher model.

Regards.
