How do i take the penny out from the dvd - Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

It means that if you have a penny and don't spend it, you are a penny to the good rather than a penny poorer. The old English form of this is "A penny saved is twice got"

Of course it ignores the fact that if you spend money you presumably have something for it, otherwise you would keep the money.

You have to disassemble the Wii, remove the DVD drive from inside the Wii and remove the top cover from it and carefully remove the pennies without damaging the laser or the track inside of the unit. This is probably something you would want to take to an electronics repair shop as there are special screws holding the whole thing together. I'm a long time geek and electronics buff and it took me a good 3 hours to fabricate the tools required and get the thing apart when I had to fix this same problem for a friend.

Oh that sucks... I had the same issue with a Sony Xplod Indash DVD Player, You have to contact the Manufacturer, They will either replace the system, or explain to you how to fix it, In my case they replaced mine.

It may just a dirty laser pickup. You can try using using a laser cleaner cd which can be purchased from most electronic retailer.

There's probably only something jammed in the DVD drive... last one of these I fixed had a penny that my friend's daughter tried to stuff into the system. Once we opened up the Wii, the penny fell out and everything worked great. If there's nothing jammed in the drive, there may be gears or something in there broken. I just bought a 04 quest, and my radio would go out also. If you tap the console from the side, or you go over railroad track and it comes in and out, then there is a penny or some kind of change in the CD player. It also shorted out my DVD system. I went to the GV Electronics to have the dealership replace the DVD/TV, and they found a penny shorting out the Disc Player. (the previous owners kid must have put a penny in the CD hole.)

I had similar issues with my audio being mute intermittenly. I ended up being a penny in the CD player slot. (I think the previous owners kid put a penny thru the CD player slot) It also shorted out my DVD system, the DVD player would not come on. The dealership where I bought it seen me to GV Electronics to have my DVD player replaced, and they removed my CD Player and heard change banging around in the Player. After dis assembling it, they found the penny. Everytime I hit a bump or go over railroad tracks, the audio would mute.

there is a penny in your CD player slot. I had the same issues. Evertime I went over railroad tracks or severe pot holes my audio would go mute. The penny is moving around inside, on the CD player's electronic board and sorting out by letting multiple circuits make contact, so the penny was removed and everything is good. It killed my DVD System, I had to have it replaced on the dealership. I guess the previous owners kid put the penny in, mimmicking like a CD. I have had my Quest 3 weeks, probably one of the reasons they traded it in........

Hi khamillt It is possible to remove the pennies but keep in mind that you have to open the device. Your'e warrenty will be void !! If you technical knowledge is ok, then i recommend to view a youtube movie how to open the device. After that, you can look for the pennies (almost sure they will be in the DVD player).
