I can't see the messages I send and messages I receive on the chat box using yahoo messenger

Use Facebook, Twitter, Gmail Chat. For whatever reason you're using Yahoo messenger, if you're too attached to it to use something else, try disconnecting and reconnecting, or send a different type of message, or try to connect with a video chat or phone call through Yahoo.

With the Yahoo! Messenger application, you can chat with friends and family over the Internet, and you can also use the contacts you have from your Yahoo! email account. In addition, the application allows you to enter chat rooms, play games, share pictures and transfer files. Using the preferences on your Yahoo! Messenger, you can enable the application to play a sound when you receive a new message, and you can also have your own customized sounds played.

1.Open the Yahoo! Messenger application on your computer. Click on the "Preferences" option from top toolbar menu.
2.Click on the "Alerts and Sounds" option from the Preferences window on the left side of the application.
3.Click on the box next to the "Enable alert sounds" fields and then click on the "I receive a message in Yahoo! Mail" option below the "Alert me when" heading.
4.Click on the box next to the "Playing a sound" field below the "Alert me by" heading and then click on the "Browse" button.
5.Select a sound file from your computer that you want to be used with Yahoo! Messenger and then click on the "OK" button.
6.Click on the "OK" button again and the sound you choose will be enabled in the Yahoo! Messenger application.

the problem is in your yahoo messenger options... or your yahoo messenger is not updated.

Invite someone with YM account to be your friend in YM. Then ask him/her to chat.
After typing your message in typing chat box, press ENTER and your text will shown in conversation display automatically.

Open Messenger and click Messenger on the toolbar, scroll to Preferences, click, scroll to Messages, click.

In the second box, Pressing Enter in a message window, fill in the box next to "Sends the message".

Click Apply, then OK and immediately reboot your computer. When you reopen and go to your Messenger, Enter will now be sending your messages.

Til not work mean, try to download ccleaner and clear all you catch and cookies do that process more then 2 time then try to open your messenger and send msg . surely it will help you

The first thing to check is to make sure you have scripting enabled in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is integrated into Yahoo Messenger so things that go wrong with IE can affect Yahoo Messenger. Here is the yahoo help page about that: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messeng...

2) In the Start Menu click on Run. Type, without the quotes, "regsvr32 jscript.dll" and then click OK. Next, repeat the process but this time type in the Run box "regsvr32 vbscript.dll" and click OK. Please note, if you are using Windows Vista temporarily disable the User Account Control (UAC). You can easily turn it back on. On the Control Panel (Category View) choose User Accounts and Family Safety, next choose User Accounts, and then click Turn User Account Control on or off.

3) If the above does not fix your problem and you are using Windows XP, you can update your Windows Script to version 5.7. In my experience helping others, this is the step that has helped the most people. Exit all browser windows and chat programs including Yahoo Messenger before installing. run registry cleaner reginout to easily fix it

Uninstall your yahoo messenger and install new one. Here is better one, Ymsgr 10.
By the way, chat window will only appear if you double click the name from your list. From the chat window you can receive and send message to the person you are chatting.

You need to uninstall and reinstall your yahoo messenger program..

You can do this by going to the control panel, classic view, add or remove programs ( XP) or programs and features ( vista)

Then finding yahoo messenger and uninstalling it..

Then re download the messenger and reinstall it.

During the chat session of yahoo messenger if you can not see you typed message or can not read the receive message. Just sign out and sign back try to send message if the message will appear in chat box. If the problem is still happen you need to restart the unit ans sign back. That;s what i have experience before and i know what i am doing to fix it.
