I have a new Cruzer USB Flash Drive, which I bought while on holidays in Finland. While there I stored all my photos etc on it. Now, back home, when I plugged it into my USB port, it asked to install something. I started to install, but when a message came up saying that it may stuff up my pc, I cancelled it. After that, when I plug it in, nothing happens, and the USB flash drive is not recognised by my pc. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or do I need to try a different pc?
Thanks,
Marja

You need you plug this USB flash drive to your computer. Computer will recognize this new flash drive and give it a drive letter, such as E, F, etc...If you can save file, folder, or copy files and folders from your C drive to this new flash drive and take it everywhere you go.
To make sure that the usb flash drive is working, try inserting it in a different computer. If the problem persists, you may have a defective usb flash drive. Try returning it back to the store where you bought it from to avail of the product warranty. If the store where you buy it is legit, they should replace your item with a working one. To avoid this problem in the future, try using it in the store first before taking it home.
look on the back of your computer for a hi speed usb port, or just use any back usb port. some computers like mine dont have a "bus" to the mother board to the front usbs or because they are piggy backed to the front they dont pass through.
If the Windows 98 computer does not have a USB port and you cannot copy the photos onto a floppy disk or burn the photos to a CD then the only option is the following. Remove the hard disk and connect it to a USB hard drive adapter and then plug this into a USB port of a working computer. This computer will see this as an external storage device, you can then open the various folders and copy your photos to this computer or to a USB flash drive.
Insert the Cruzer and allow your computer to acknowledge it. You will know this by going to "My Computer" and double clicking. You should see that the computer has assigned a drive letter to it. Double click that drive letter for the Cruzer. With that window left open, find were your photos are. Open the folder were the photos are located. With both windows open you can now drag the photos over to the Cruzer and drop them into the window for the Cruzer.
You use it like a floppy disk, you can copy files to and from your computer to the flash drive, then take the flash drive out and the put into another computer to share, ie. to download and copy files to from other computers such as a friend's computer. The files can be anything, music, photos etc.
Open Windows Explorer on your PC. You should see it there when you expand the "my computer" tree on the left side (click the + symbol next to 'my computer'). It will show up as a drive letter, depending on how many hard drives and optical drives you have in your system, it could be drive letter "E", "F" or even higher. It will probably say "Cruzer" next to the drive letter. All you have to do is drag and drop your files onto the drive letter. Simple, you don't need instructions.
insert the flash drive into your computer and wait for it to be recognised by windows. Once it has been recognised and installed it will tell you that it is installed and ready to use.
The just go to wherever it is on your computer that you have your photos stored, select your photos right click and click on copy, then go to 'my comptuer' and double click on your flash drive to open it and paste your picture there.
Or select your photos, right click, select sent to:- and send to your flash drive, it may be recognised as removable storage.
