I bought a new SIMER smart geyser #2330-03 submersible utility pump a couple of weeks ago. I plugged it in today and it does not stay running. There is about 4 inches of water in my basement and it keeps cycling as though it was on dry ground. It pumps for about 5 seconds, turns off for 15 seconds, then comes back on for 5 seconds etc.. The air lock appears fine and I am running about 13 feet of 3/4 inch diameter hose to a outlet drain pipe thats about 6 feet off the ground. Any ideas???

Sounds like it has a blockage may check inlet also

If the outlet of the discharge hose/pipe is

submerged you must have a 1/8" hole in the discharge
hose/pipe to prevent airlock. This hole must be open to air.

I have a Simer 2305 and the pump will run but does not when the water is low?

Pumps such as the Simer 2305 do not pump water totally down to ground level. They are designed so they do not suck up debris , sediment, etc, which can clog and ruin the pump. So if your pump leaves an inch or so of water, that is normal.

Brand new Simer pump Model 2330-03 runs 10 seconds shuts off, turns back on, runs 10 seconds shuts off, etc., etc. Why is this happening?

Sounds like a faulty switch on the float. Try to hold the switch up by hand and see if it stays running, if so you may need to lube the switch. If not then it sounds like a manufacturer defect and needs to be returned.

My Simer 2300-03 has been great except that it overheats after awhile. Too little water??

Yes. I recently used a similar pump (Flotech 1/6 hp) running for about 24 hours - but it came with this warning "don't use continuously unless submerged in at least 4 inches of water". This is because it will easily overheat, as yours has been doing. Mine worked for pumping water out of my basement (not the speediest little pump), but only because there is a sump hole in the floor where the pump could remain submerged.

What kind of is used in a simer submersible

The Simer brand of submersible dewatering pumps rely on being fully submersed in water for proper cooling and for the seals to remain water tight and effective.

According to the manufacturer, there is no oil used in the pump, other than a very small amount that was used in assembling the pump at the factory, so you shouldn't oil the pump, but rather follow the recommendations as to making sure the pump is installed properly.

Here's the owners manual for your particular pump (Model #2300) so you can check the troubleshooting FAQ's and so you can also contact the manufacturer, should you need replacement parts or need to make a warranty claim, etc.
