Do you hear a "click" when you push the water dispenser lever in? (The sound should come from the back bottom of the refrigerator where the water line connects to the refrigerator.) If not, the solenoid valve is not working or is not getting power. Someone knowledgeable with fixing solenoid valve will need to test it.

If you do hear the click, then the water is not getting through. 1. Check the following: water valve in wall behind refrigerator is on; 2. Water line between wall and refrigerator is not kinked or crushed; 3. water line inside refrigerator (check the refrigerator side, inside of the cabinet near the back at the bottom for a coil of plastic tubing). Make sure it is not kinked, crushed, or frozen; 4. Replace the water filter and make sure it is installed correctly.

If your valve is working, then the water has to come out of the valve in the wall through the tubing to the solenoid valve. Then out the valve through the tubing inside the refrigerator; through the water filter and out the dispense. It is a matter of check to see where the water is getting stopped.

If the ice is opperating normaly listen for a click or humm from the water valve if nothing it may be the switch first check for power at the valve when switch depressed if present replace the valve if valve has power and you hear it oppening and closing it or the line to the dispenser may be plugged. if no ice either check the water supply to the fridge and the filter in the fridge if there is one.

Kenmore coldspot water dispenser stopped working. Ice maker works. What could be possibly wrong?

On the rear of your refrigerator there is a dual water control valve. One side for ice maker and one side for water dispenser. I believe your side for the water dispenser has failed and they come as a set. Send the Kenmore model number and I will find you one. The number will look like this, 326.256489 for example only. Found near the bottom of the fresh food section door. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Ice Maker does not work.

Check the line going to the ice maker for clogging.

My Kenmore side by side unit leaks water onto the floor and the water dispenser has stopped working. When I hit the dispense switch I hear water squirting.

Probably the plastic tube that came from the solenoid is broken somewhere between the solenoid and the dispenser(usually under the refrigerator).

Water works the ice is not

Your water valve is stuck open. Is it for the ice maker or the water dispenser? It could be the switch in the door calling for water instead of the valve. Does it stop when you unplug the refrigerator?

I have the opposite problem

You may have air in the system. When you actuate the dispenser it opens an electric valve in back to start the flow of water. When you release the dispenser air in the system expanding will cause the water to continue to flow until the pressure equalizes.

Kenmore Refrigerator stopped dispensing water

Either your water tank in the fridge froze up, the waterline that goes up the freezer door from the bottom hinge froze, or the switch that your glass hits is damaged. Do you hear any humming or noises when you put your glass up to get water?
