I recently came into possession of a Koss KLD2700 LCD tv...it's a 27" widescreen with detachable speakers on the sides. It's a re-tagged tv as i remember seeing it a few years back with a different name on it.
All that aside, when i turn it on the screen flashes once grey, and then goes black. there's a slight buzzing sound coming from the same side the power cord goes into (might be a normal sound might not be).
none of the buttons seem to change the screen. ANy ideas on what this might be, I know it's vague but it's all i have.
Thanks
Tv NO picture but it turns on with loud buzzing sound

As in almost all lcd type tv/monitor the backlight will go out and the inverter should be replaced at the same time. Your cost about 50.00 if you do it yourself.
Take care

Is there a good place online for them?
I am pretty handy but i haven't done it before...is there a walkthrough online i could use?

I am currently doing a DELL and a Magnavox. Their are many places to go and get the tubes but if you want it right here is where I went to get the tubes and inverters. First, setup an antistatic work station. Not worth working on unless you are careful and take your time. This is easy and not so easy. The lcd display is set up like a deck of cards. What I mean here is when you get to the part where the tubes are you must be careful. The display has a few layers of plastic, reflector, diffusers...etc....and you must be careful of the plastic ribbon cable attached to the lcd display, if you cut-tear or pull it off the display you might as well throw it away. Their are 2 to 4 small tubes called ccfl which are nothing more than tiny florescent tubes that are very fragile, I broke one repairing one so I had to eat a 10.00 tube. They last about 3 years for tv viewing [ about 30,000 hours ] . Here is the site I ordered the tubes from which has a small walk through.

The inverter I got from hong kong and this person is reliable, however, it most likely will not be the same as far as the way the screw holes line up but all else is ok and a little double stick tape worked well and it was enclosed in plastic so you want to make sure the bottom of the board does not come in contact with the metal cabinet.
Here is where I got the inverter from :

I do not know how long he will have them but it is the best price and mine works fine, you will notice a hefty 50.00 price tag on just the inverter in some places. Once you feel ok with the go ahead I will walk you through with my photos of the dell, it is not the same but it will be close. You must understand that I am not doing the work, I am just trying to guide you and their could be problems if you are not careful. If you take your time , take photos as you dismantle it , take index cards and scotch tape the step by step screws to each index card , take a photo etc. and you will be happy you did. Their are about 20 or less screws.
So do some reading......think about it.......and lets get it fixed!. When you are ready let me know and if you think you can do it from here..good luck!. Their is nothing more great than fixing it yourself!!!! .
Take Care for now..............
