I lost the CD that came with my Sony DCR-TRV280 Handycam and I can seem to find a download that will work with Vista Premium Home Edition. Can anyone help me with this?

Downloading software does no good if you can't install it without the cd-rom part number. The part numbers are model specific, it's what tells the downloaded files which drivers to install. Pain in the !@#%. I will never buy Sony again just for the lack of tech support.
Connect your data cable with camcorder given for the Sony Handycam DCR-TRV280 Digital-8 Digital Camcorder.And connect the other end to the Computer.If any cd available handy cam its it also. Then you can find your videos in computer
The software has not been around for some time for your camera, or my own Digital 8 camera either, you can however buy software from all our cameras to allow us to download, edit movies and everything from PC World or a Staples shop. Hope you can get your software from those, I did last week for my camera, you are looking at about £15. Bye from David
You can download the software from the sony website. Try searching google with the make and model of your camera + "computer driver" for whatever type of computer you have.
I lost my software installation CD of sony handycam Model dcr-trv 285e.
Hence I am not able to transfer the pictures from handicam to Laptop.

Call or email the sony support team. You can have them send you a new cd. It may cost a couple of bucks thought. If you need it for free you can try to find it on a peer to peer network but the chances of finding are slim and it will take some work.
That should say I can't seem to find a download...
