Model GSL22JFPHBS Last winter our water dispenser stopped working and then the ice dispenser stopped. I called a guy and he tested the little pumps in the back. Everything checked out o.k. Then he said to try leaving the freezer door open. He thought it was frozen up inside the door. I did this and then after a couple of hours the water started to flow. It seems like the freezer was too cold in the winter. We keep our house cool in the winter. The water dispenser continued to "freeze" up occasionally in the winter. I would turn down the freezer all the way and then leave the door open. It would eventually unfreeze and flow. I change the filters regularly. Now it is summer and neither the refrigerator or freezer are cold enough. The freezer cannot freeze anything. It doesn't make ice. The water flows fine however. The machine is only about 3 years old.

How do I get at the condenser coils? I have turned the freezer to the coldest possible setting and it does no good.

    Hi Battlesmith,

I wrote a bit earlier about the side by
side refrigerator problem and you suggested cleaning the condenser coils and
adjusting the fan. I pulled out the machine from the wall. I don't
know how to get at the condenser coils and cannot locate the fan.

However I did find a problem on another website that looks exactly like mine.

    Check it out below.

    I
purchasedmy GE side by side refrigerator a year and a half ago. All of
a suddenmy both the fridge and the freezer stopped getting down to the
propertemperature. the fridge stays at about 40-50 degrees and the
freezerstays at about 30 and there is frost on the back wall of the
freezer.Luckily for me I have a home warranty and the only reason we
have it isfor the fridge. They send someone out and say we need a new
motherboard. I asked if it was an updated one and he says no it is just
a newone and may go out again in another year or two.

    After
alot ofresearch on the internet i discovered many people with this
problem. Iam thinking that aparently this mother board is a poor design
and whyshould me or anyone else have to pay to have a new one put in
every 2years. I mean if the fridge was 5 years old ok fine ill pay for
it but1 1/2 years i need a new mother board. Plus we have to wait
another 2days for them to be back to instal the part. I will never ever
    buyanother GE product again!

we lost food from beef to milk and many other frozen and fresh foods.

    Hello JB,
Yeah exactly the Board is of a little poor quality but I can Assure you
to take a chance Which is not not unworthy!!...May be if it can work
for another 3 years then why should you hesitate my friend!!..As you
might have known Electronic Gadegts, poor or Good quality can get worn out
quickly where we necessarily must have a pinch of Luck too..So dont
worry buddy!!...Try to service the Refridgerator..It must possibly help
    you out!!..

Thank you!!..Dont forget to accept the solution...

    Regards!!....

    Hello jb,
The condenser coil is a natural collector of particles from the air.
There is nothing you can do to prevent this from happening. So, get in
there and clean it every few months. All it takes is a brush and a
vacuum cleaner or shop vac..Remove bottom panel on the front under the doors and use the crevice tool and a magnetic rainbow duster to clean off the coils

Samsung RS275ACWP water dispenser stopped working

Sounds like the pump is faulty but could be the circuit board.
Make sure you have water at the pump. If the pump doesn't start when you call for water it could be even the switch.
This is tricky to explain and would best be repaired by a tech but if you know how to use a multi meter you can easily test it.

Ice maker works but water dispenser stopped working

There sould be a set of water control valves on rear of refrigerator and where the water comes into refrigerator dispenser and ice maker. When one goes bad you replace both. You can test the windings in each coil or test for voltage while someone presses dispense water.I will ty to locate one set with your model number. Sea Breeze

Water dispenser not working. Ice dispenser works

There should be a water filter inside the water lines to the water spout. This filter could be clogged, or the water lines themselves may still be somewhat frozen and not allowing flow to the dispenser itself.
You can also test the power to the dispensor to make sure it is drawing water. Can you hear the pump trying to pump water to dispenser? The water valve should also be opening. You can test power to the valve that draws in water from the external water lines.

I have a GE Hotpoint Side by Side refrigerator Model #HSM25GFRA SA and have a problem with the water dispenser. I've switched out the filter with two new ones but still have the same problem - no water...

Alot of the GE refrigerators have problems like this. You either need to replace water valve on the back because one of the valves has stopped working OR the tube in the door has frozen and the door will need to be replaced. The best way to tell is remove the hinge cap on the bottom hinge and disconnect the little adapter put a towel down there and then trigger the water dispenser. If water comes out, the tube is frozen in the door. If not, replace the valve.

Ice and Water not dispensing. Light button not working

http://www.repairclinic.com/0100_1.asp
There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.

GE Refrigerator Water Not Dispensing

Had the same problem. No water to the dispenser. After removing the grate at foot of refrigerator was able to get water to bottom of tube. Careful with the funky little coupling, push the white ends inward to disconnect. Turned off refergerator for awhile and used a blow dryer to warm up the dispenser area from the outside. Be careful not to damage plastic by over heating. Also tried to warm the exterior of door but not sure if that helped. Used a hand activated vacuum pump on the water exit spout. Took a long time but evidently the water just prior to the spout had frozen. Had run a small metal wire up the tube from the bottom and it went nearly to the area of the dispenser so I don't think there had been any ice except at the area around the dispenser spout.
Hope this helps.
