If the camera comes with a cable to connect it to the computer, you should be able to transfer the photos without the assistance of any software. Once connected, click the start button, or windows button, in the lower left hand of the screen. Go to My Computer. Look for the device and open it. You should be able to search inside the device for the photos, then right-click and copy the photos you want, then paste them into whatever folder you would like in your My Documents folder.

May I suggest something easier? You can just get a memory card reader, attached the memory card inside and then connect to your computer. You can upload the photos to your computer without the need to download extra software. Plus, it will save the battery of your camera.

No, probably not. If you've taken more photos since then, then DEFINITELY not.

When they're deleted from the camera, they're deleted forever.

How can i download my photos from my camera to my mac?

Hi there,

Well it's very easy, first of all you can follow the below link and download driver for your mac os -

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=324&modelid=19208

(Just copy and past the above link in your web browser, and select mac os x option from drop down list, lastly download ImageBrowser 6.5.0a Updater (Mac OS 10.4-10.6))

After downloading driver/software just install it to mac pc, then connect your camera to mac and simply transfer photo by opening the installed software.

Unable to download photos from Canon sx20 is

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.

There are also plenty of photo catalog software packages out there, some free, some not, that can transfer and catalog your pictures so you can quickly find pictures from Susie's birthday party, for example. Just do a google search for "photo catalog software".

Downloading photos

If you are using Windows XP unplug your camera from your PC and uninstall the Kodak software. You don't need it to transfer photos to your PC. The next time you connect your camera (turn the camera on) to your computer it should recognize it and you can use Windows built in transfer software. Details are here:http://www.organizepictures.com/2006/11/5-easy-steps-to-transfer-your-pictures-using-windows-xp-photo-wizard

DOWNLOADING PICTURES

Photo transfer problems are as likely to be related to software as to hardware. If you use photo-editing software other than what came with your camera, check the software's documentation and Web site to see if the manufacturer supports your camera. Download and install any software updates, as well.

If your photo-editing software can't detect your camera, make sure your camera is attached, turned on, and, if necessary, switched to transfer mode. Double-click the My Computer icon and look for an icon that corresponds to your camera. If you see an icon for your camera, you know that Windows detects your camera and that the problem is related to your photo-editing software.
