1. Open the scanner unit. 2. Remove the tape from the new print cartridge 3. The left side cartridge should be the black one. 4. Press down the cartridge levers to open them. 5. Remove the old cartridge and replace with the new one. 6. Close cartridge lids. 7. Close scanner unit and press the "check mark" button to print alignment page.

Hi,

Thank you for choosing FixYa! I have used this unit before and here are the steps you need to follow to replace an empty cartridge on it.

1. Make sure the printer is on.

2. Lift the scanner unit.

The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the printer is busy.

3. Press down on the lever to raise the cartridge lid.

4. Remove the used print cartridge.

5. Replace it with the new one

Note: If you are removing both cartridges, repeat step 3 and step 4 for the second cartridge.

Brother printermfc j430w will not accept ink cartriages i just install. screen says" no ink cartriages and install ink cartriage and ink black

Maybe are empty. You can manually check them. Take them out and look at them from the side that goes in the machine. There is a transparent plastic which if you are holding the crtridge exactly as it goes in the machine, it should have liquid ink inside. If its empty at that specific position is empty

Ink shows empty when toner is not even close to empty

there is one thing that if you refill the cartriage and then use again then still ink indicator shows low ink as its' ckt is designed so.

there is no problem you can print easily.
your printer will show correct ink level when you put in new cartriage.

but remember one thing that if your printer stops printing and shows message on computer that no ink in cartriage ,, then you need to reset printer counter, (this resetting process is present in your printer manual)

so no problem in printing, it shows low ink because the circuit inside it is designed soo.

so that you purchase new cartriage.
(remember : you need to reset the counter , refer to manual)

No ink on page

Clean the contact in the housing area and on the ink cartriage. If that does not work buy a new cartriage. The ink probably dried up in the nozzles. You can place the ink cartriage on a wet paper towel water or alcohal and press the cartriage into the towel. If you see no ing replace.

Won't print in black

unplug your printer and reinstall the drivers. Your printer is sending data to your computer saying that you are still out of black ink. By rebooting and also re installing your drivers it will reset its self. Or you can pull your color ink and see if it reconizes the black with out it. There also may be a problem with your black shuttle depending how long you were with out black ink it could of dried the surface that helps extrude ink from the bottom of the ink cartriage. I have found never let a ink cartriage ever run completely dry before you buy a new one.. A little wastefull maybe but it can save you in the long run.
