Iv am using nokia n79 for smore then an year. Out of the blue it has stopped sending text messages, I turned it off, removed battery and sim card, replaced them and it started to work properly again then out of the blue a few days later it has stopped sending texts. I repeated what i did before several times but it has not fixed the problem.Iv tried my sim card in my other phone and it works fine so it is definatly a problem with my N79.Everything else is working apart from sending sms.When i try to send a sms it is sent to my outbox saying 'resend' and i have no reports.Just before my phone decided to stop sending sms it would sent the same text around 10times to the last person i text. Also i chekd msg centre no ... its correct,,, Also i tried restoring factory setting, even that didn't work.

The message center number must have been tampered with.call your service provider customer care line for this number.then go to message>message setting>text messages>message center now click to enter the given numbers

i checked that... ts fine.... actually its an continual process, sometimes messages get sent and most of the time they r stuck in outbox..... pls suggest some other soln.

Hello,the problem you are facing now is simply because you have deleted your message center number mistakenly,kindly visit your message center number through your messages icon menu,you then move to message settings there you would see your message center number.if just a digit is deleted from the message center number you will not be able to send messages.all you need to do is to look for someone who is on the same network with you to copy out the message center number correctly and compare with the one you have on your phone,or you can slao get the message center number from your service provider.

I updated my firmware frm Nokia software updater and it worked fine. I had the same issue.
Now am able to send msgs as well.

How to copy SMS NOKIA N70 to NOKIA N79

copy ur text messages via mark text option and den copy text... den go in notes make new note>paste text>save. den u can send dat note via bluetooth free of cost. another option is u can keep messages in sim card memory and den copy it to ur other phone.

Can't send or receive text messages

The problem is not on the phone setting but on the sim card itself. Remove the battery and the sim and let it sit for 5 minutes. After that, insert sim and battery then try sending a text message.
To verify, insert your sim to another phone and use a different sim in your phone.

Constant flashing envelope on front screen

This is common on the Nokia N79. Your Sim card probably has text messages saved on it and the flashing icon is showing your sim sms memory is full. In the inbox go to the setting and view the sms on the sim, delete them and the message icon should stop flashing.
