It is hard to say at this distance what is wrong. If it is oldish, the motor brushes may be worn down. It could be that a wire has come loose from a terminal in it, or a contact has broken in the on/off switch assembly. All those things have happened to me at one time or another.
there is no clutch adjustment on a circular saw of this type. what is the model number and I will try and give you some hints, if you tell me what the problem is.
If the motor is 3 phase (which it may be if it is 2 HP) , it will run backwards if 2 of the wires are traded position. You may have changed the wires in the plug if you replaced a plug.
