All inkjet printers have a waste ink tank for ink which does not make it on the paper. When it's full, the printer stops working. You might be able to reset the counter in the printer, but unless you also emptied the tank, it won't help. It's like using a chip resetter to tell an empty cartridge it has ink. The "out of ink" error will go away but you still can't print. Unless you want to go through the tedious and messy process of emptying the ink tank, you are best off getting another printer. They're practically disposable today.

In printer canon ip 1800 is showing ink absorber is full cant use the printer

Hope you find this information helpful.
The printer has a built-in ink absorber to hold the ink used during Print Head Cleaning, for example. Eight flashes indicates that the ink absorber is nearly full. Press the RESUME/CANCEL button to cancel the error so you can continue printing. Before the ink absorber becomes completely full, contact a Canon service representative. (You will need to replace a particular part of the printer. Canon recommends that you call for service as soon as this error occurs. Once the ink absorber becomes completely full, printing cannot be performed until the ink absorber is replaced

Ink absorbers almost full in Canon Pixma iP 1500 how can I fix it yourself

Hi ...

This printer has an ink absorber that takes in ink during the printing and print head cleaning processes. The cleaning process is necessary in order to keep the print head nozzles from becoming clogged. Over the life of the printer, the amount of ink that the ink absorber has absorbed is calculated by the printer. Eventually, after substantial use, the printer will enter an error condition when the ink absorber is nearly full. At this point, printing is still possible by pressing the <Resume> button on the printer. To protect the printer from damage, you will not be able to print at all once the ink absorber is full.
Canon recommends having the printer serviced before the absorber becomes full. We are aware that there are many "do-it-yourself" Web sites that offer instructions for making this repair. Replacing the ink absorber is a complicated and potentially messy procedure. Even if the ink absorber is successfully changed, the ink absorber counter must be reset. Be aware that if you attempt this procedure, it is at your own risk.

The ink absorber is full for pixma 1880

This is the REAL working method of manually resetting Canon ip1880 - ip 1980.

1. Unplug the POWER cord.
2. Press & hold the power button.
3. Connect the power cord WHILE holding the power button.
4. Keep on holding the power button for about 30 seconds.
5. Release the power button. The printer should be turned off.
6. Turn the printer on and that's it!

NOTE: You have to do this every time you turn on your printer. Or you will get the waste pad full error.

Hope this helps.

Waste ink absorber

hi i am a certiffied Canon repair tech for this model. this is true this will reset the error but doing so without replacing the waste asorber pad in the bottom of the machine will cause your machine to backup waste ink into the the printing area of the machine and will start smuging ink on the page. the waste absorber is fairly cheap but the labor varies from shop to shop. there are independent Canon repair shops throughout the world. you can call 1-800-ok- canon or look on the canon website. hope this help to clairify.
