If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, greenish, or blueish or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.
You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com

there are many mirrors, filters and lenses in the projection assembly, This happened to me too. I took the assembly apart and there was one of the filters that had gotten charred. Sony KDS-50A2000 - bulb replaced but picture still yellow

Hi,It sounds like a light engine problem Sony is having.Basically the light of the lamp goes through tunnels that have mirrors that direct the lamp to 3 main LCD chips,These 3 LCD chips are blue, green, and red they blend to create the image and colors. When they start to fail you'll get color discoloration like what you are getting. You will need to replace the optical block because unfortunately they don't sell the LCD chips by themselves.GOD BLESS YOU!

Thomson 50DSZ645

There is only one brightness bulb for your tv. You have the main bulbs which run the color for the Tv and then you have another bulb which runs the brighness. Typically it is a flourecent bulb inside which does need replacement now and then. Check tje specks on the tv's web site and you should be able to get the model number of the bulb from them and you should be able to purchase it from a repair shop or from online

Philips magnavox 9P6040C104

i just found out why, turn on ur tv and remove back look directly into 3 lenses, if the picture is not nice and clear or looks snowy in all 3 u will not get good color or brightness. I removed my blue tube assembly and took it apart WHILE OUT OF TV. there is cooling fluid between lense and tube, this fluid over time will build a film on the face of the tube and get thick enough to block the tube from projecting picture. (MARK EDGES IT GOES BACK TO GETHERE THE SAME WAY IT CAME APART).Find some new fluid then carefully dissasemble and clean interior of lense, housing and tube thouroughly. Reassemble and fill with new fluid. Do not use old fluid it will be cloudy and snow globe effect. Only do 1 tube at a time this will allow u to realign cross manually as close as possible before u perform convergence. Leave the green for last that is the center and the red and blue are moved to match green. Also be sure to clean mirror and back of screen. Pete

Toshiba 20hlv15 image turns bright colors and will sometimes disappear.

I took the unit completely apart and reassembled it, making sure to check all harnesses. I have been running the TV since I put it back together and it has been fine so far (3 hrs.). I was hoping that it was just a loose harness4.gif when taking the unit apart. Although, I did not note a loose harness. The dvd1.gif player went wacky by just having the harness slightly off. I will run the unit some more and post my findings. I have to say I'm surprised that this is not a more common problem considering there are numerous people with this particular unit with the same issue. Also, just a note the unit was very clean inside, no dust issues, no blocked cooling ducts.

Picture fuzzy on dark scenes

Well I finally had the TV picked up by a Toshiba recommended repair place and they are saying that it is a bad Optical Block, also known as the Light Engine. Total for pick up, parts and repairs is $827.00. This seems ridiculous to me when brand new TVs are so much cheaper now. I don't think I will pay that much to have this one fixed.

46" toshiba dlp projection picture problems

Take out the lamp and clean it. Look inside where the lamp was and you will see a thin peice of coloured plastic (colour wheel). Vacuum that plastic and all around it but don't touch it. This solution worked for me, and now my TV is as good as new.
