That's no big deal. It won't harm a top load washer. Just try to use the proper stuff next time.

However, you should never use regular top load laundry detergent (non HE) in a front loading machine though, because that can quickly cause problems.

Beko washing machine causing pulled threads on my clothes model number WTL10415W

No model number given. Front Loader or Top Loader? Pulled threads are normally in front loader and is caused by a pinch point in one of the baffles. On a top loader, look for a nick in the agitator, or the type with a split agitator, a gap between the two parts.

Electrolux washing machine drum not turning. Door will not unlock.

The most likely cause is a broken drive belt. You don't say if it is a front or top loader. For a top loader, pull the machine out, and drop the drain hose into a bucket to empty the machine. Tilt the machine against the wall. Have someone steady it and look underneath. You should see the motor and belt, although some are direct drive.

For a front loader, the belt is accessed from the rear of the machine.

Use Top Loader or Front Loader detergents Do you need to dissolve all powders or liquids before washing Can you alter spin time or speed

the use of liquid detergents is recommended over powders in washing machines as they do leave a mud build up over time in the bottom of the wash bowl
no they do have to be dissolved before use
spin speeds are set in the machine program and cannot be altered
spin time is set in the machine program and cannot be altered
use the recommended detergents for the machine because if you use top loader detergent in a front loader it will froth up excessively and cause problems for a front loader machine
the suitability of use for the detergent ( powder or liquid) is clearly marked on the labelling on the bottle or packet

My washing machine fills with pieces of black matter. I have done machine clean washes and it still happens every time, covering my clothes in black pieces that look like cardboard. Please help my - the...

Hi mine does exactly the same! I have to call in my washing machine technician more often (he told me this would happen with a top loader as opposed to a front loader, boy was he right!!) and he cleans out the drum. Mostly it is the fabric softener which is too thick. I water mine down to 50/50 and I do another spin after my final wash. I also empty the filter of water at the side/bottom of the machine. This annoying problem is caused by the way the drum turns on a top loader as opposed to the front loader. My top loader cannot heat water automatically either like a front loader, and I think this also adds to the problem as hot/boiling water would dissolve all that soap/fabric softener. Hope this helps.

Sometimes it spins sometimes it doesn't had a problem this morning with a king size quilt, it came out soaking so I tried to spin it again & its still wet, I put in another load & then it...

Duvets/quilts are very heavy when wet, causing a very unbalanced load. If the machine could spin such a large uncentred (UK spelling!) mass it would shake itself to pieces, so all modern domestic washing machines have unbalanced load detection systems. In use these systems will vary the drum rotation to try and get the load evenly distributed before going into full spin, but if they can't then no spin occurs.

Very few domestic washing machines can take a duvet or quilt (certainly no front loader which I'm aware of, and only a few top loaders), and those which can fit them in are usually overloaded. There's nothing wrong with your machine, you just need to use a commercial launderette machine to wash and spin your duvet/quilts in future.

Which is better front loading or top in washing machines

In my opinion front. Less soap, water, larger loads and they clean better.

My washing machine is not draining and finishing the cycle

There should be a trap to catch small items that might slip past the seals of the drum. find it and clean it out. That might correct the problem.

However, you might be using too much or the wrong kind of laundry detergent. Front loaders can't use regular top loader detergent. Too much suds can cause the machine to stop. that may be why you find suds in the drum when you think the washing should be done.

Some units have lights that change as the washing process changes what it is doing. If it's working properly, the light indicating the door is unlocked will be lit at the end of the washing cycle. If the machine stops short of that, something is definitely wrong with the machine and requires a thorough inspection by a professional.

Which is better a top loader or front loader washing machine?

Front Loading Washing Machine: Fully automatic.
1. Better washing than toploading as technologically proofed.
2. No extra effort except putting cloths and detergent inside.
3. No need to observe in between while washing. Start and forgot. You can go market and come back.
4. No issue if electricity or water went out during washing.
4. Take more water compare to toploading semi-automatic.
5. You can not open it once it started.

Top Loading Washing Machine: Semi
1. Save water and detergent.
2. Need extra effort to put the cloth from one box to another.

Problems

Greetings tammym545,

Generally an EFO error on a front load machine is caused by using too much soap, or the wrong type of soap. Ensure you are using HE (High Efficiency) soap in your front loader. HE soaps are specially formulated front loading units to be low sudsing, which is essential to a front loader.

Thank you,

Agent Dort
