A Pride TMR 805 was delivered to us yesterday and has seized with the leg rest extended. The Manual does not appear to deal with problems in this chair. There is no problem with the electrical outlet and we have installed batteries. We are totally frustrated! Help!

The best thing to do in this situation is to call the vendor and have them repair it under warranty. There should be no charge for this service since the chair is brand new.
There are some checks you can make to avoid a service call. You have checked the batteries and hopefully the chair is plugged into the wall outlet. It is possible that something got disconnected under the chair. To check this you need to flip the chair over on its side or on its back since the leg rest scissor mechanism is extended. Look for any plugs that have come apart at their connections. Check for a pinched or binding scissor mechanism or tilt frame parts.
You should not attempt this at all if you cannot safely move a large piece of furniture. Perhaps a friend or relative may be able to help.
Insist that the vendor honor their warranty commitment ASAP. If you paid with a credit card, you should contact your credit card company to put the amount in dispute if the vendor is unresponsive. Hope this helps.

How to attach kick stand spring on 2006 street glide

With the full weight of the motorcycle resting on the jiffy or side stand when it is placed in the full forward and down position it will lock into this position when the bike is leaned over the left side. If it is not in the fully down and forward position and on a flat/level and firm/solid surface when it is leaned over to the left side the bike may fall down.

To Remove the Jiffy Stand

WWAARRNNININGG

Block and support the motorcycle under frame to be sure that it is securely upright and level and so that the jiffy stand can be moved throughout its full range of travel and so that it will not fall down or onto the repair person when the jiffy stand is removed.

Then move the jiffy stand to the retracted i.e. up position and remove the ****** nut and leg stop from the threaded end of the jiffy stand leg and then move the jiffy stand leg to the full forward position which is the full down position and grasp the end of the jiffy stand spring as close to the frame tube as possible, and then twist and turn the end with needle nose pliers to unhook it from the frame hole. THEN remove the jiffy stand leg from its bracket, inspect the entire jiffy stand assembly for worn or damaged parts and replace them as found necessary.

To Install the Jiffy Stand

First lubricate the jiffy stand leg with an Aerosol Anti-Seize Lubricant but only in the area of the jiffy stand leg part that rotates within the bracket. THEN insert the threaded end of the jiffy stand up through the bottom of the bracket and with the jiffy stand in the full forward position, partially install the spring end into the frame hole and with a rap to the spring with a rubber mallet fully seat it in its hole. Be careful to insert the end of the spring into the hole at the front of the jiffy stand leg piece in front of the jiffy stand leg piece weldment because if it is inserted from the rear of the hole in the leg piece the coil of the spring will interfere with and rub on the leg piece when the jiffy stand is used and if it is installed incorrectly over time it will wear and the motorcycle could fall over due to this wear. THEN while holding the jiffy stand leg at the full forward position, install the leg stop over the threaded end with the stamped side down, install the ****** nut and tighten it to 43-53 ft-lbs which is 58-72 Nm. NOW verify that the longer side of the leg stop faces towards the rear of the motorcycle, extend and retract the jiffy stand leg several times to verify that it operates properly, freely moving to both the full up and the full down positions with no spring or other interference or contact and verify that the rubber stop is correctly in place on the jiffy stand prong because without the rubber stop correctly in place the stand will make improper contact with the lower frame tube when the jiffy stand is retracted and will then likely chip and/or nick the powder coat. AND, of course if the rubber stop is deteriorated or missing. Replace it with a new one. FINALLY carefully remove the support blocking from beneath the motorcycle frame and let the motorcycle rest on the fully extended jiffy stand leg.

Kickstand fell off on a road king and not sure how it goes back

To replace the 2011 Touring jiffy stand leg FIRST support the motorcycle with a suitable lifting device so it securely upright and level and the jiffy stand is able to move through its full range of travel, move the jiffy stand to the full forward or down position, remove the hex bolt, the lockwasher, the flat washer and the leg stop, swing the jiffy stand forward beyond the normal down position and remove the end of the spring from the jiffy stand, remove the leg from the bracket, remove the other end of the spring from the frame weldment, inspect all of the parts for wear/damage and replace if and as necessary. TO install the leg FIRST apply SILVER GRADE ANTI-SEIZE compound to the area of the leg that rotates within the bracket, verify that the end of the spring enters the hole from the front of the leg weldment because if the end of the spring enters the hole from the rear of the weldment the spring coil will rub on the leg when in use, install the end of the spring into the hole in the frame weldment, insert the leg up through the bracket, swing the jiffy stand forward beyond the normal down position and install other end of the spring into the hole in the leg weldment. Be careful to install the leg correctly because if it is installed incorrectly excessive wear can occur which will allow the vehicle to fall when rested on the jiffy stand. THEN holding the leg at the normal forward (down) position, install the stop over the threaded end with the stamped side down, verify that the longer side of the stop faces the rear of the motorcycle, install the flat washer, the lockwasher and the hex screw and tighten it to 15-20 ft-lbs (20.3-27.1 Nm), extend and retract the jiffy stand several times to verify proper operation, freely swinging to both the fully extended and the fully retracted positions, move the jiffy stand to the full forward (down) position and remove the lifting device and let the motorcycle rest on the jiffy stand, verify that the rubber stop is installed in the hole of the jiffy stand weldment to prevent damage to the painted finish.

To remove the 2011 touring jiffy stand bracket FIRST lift and support the motorcycle in a fully upright position off of the jiffy stand, remove the left rider footboard and support brackets, remove the jiffy stand leg, remove the two fasteners and the lockwashers to release the jiffy stand bracket from the frame weldment.

To Install the 2011 touring jiffy stand bracket FIRST install the two fasteners and lockwashers to secure the front of the bracket to the frame weldment, temporarily install the footboard rear fastener to align the rear of the jiffy stand bracket but do not tighten it, tighten the front fasteners to 36-42 ft-lbs (48.8-57.0 Nm), install the footrest and install the jiffy stand leg.

I have a quantum 6000 chair and whenever I need to raise my chair for a period of time, my legs just dangle and begin hurting. Any suggestions or solutions for a temporary foot rest while my chair is...

Jal Check with your provider and ask them for a pair of Elevated Leg rests for your chair. They might have to install the holders for the leg rests but that is an easy job. And they are fairly inexpensive and can be put on and taken off easily. Hope this helps you

Providing you have power to the chair, this will be a faulty handset or a faulty limit switch inside the actuator assembly.

Hot Pipes

I am already turning heads. My question is about the pipes getting hot. Mine appears to have a type of guard but I can still feel the heat through my jeans. Any ideas? I want to be able to take my daughter for short rides but am afraid she might get her leg burned. I know I will have tons of other questions soon. ThanksI have the heat shield on my bike, and it has made a world of difference. Is yours installed in the right place? When I first put mine on, I could still feel heat, then I moved it forward on the pipe, and it works great now.,,,
