Question about Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U 42 in. LCD HDTV

2 Answers

I just switched over from cable to an HD antenna. Everything was working fine for about an hour, but now my SHARP LC-42D62U is stuck on channel 21.2 and none of the buttons on the TV work (including the power button). I unplugged it overnight hoping that the television would correct itself, but the problem persists. Any suggestions on a fix?

The tv needs to be rebooted then when you scan for channels you will need to manually erase 21.2 from the tuner, and call your cable company to report that this is happening.

Call 877-332-7867 to have a case file created and to be walked through an INIT so that the television will be unfrozen. You may need two people to complete the INIT/factory reset because in the beginning you'll need to be able to unplug the television set and then plug it back in while holding down two of the side buttons.

Hello
Just try to reset the TV to factory reset. If complex adjustments are made and the settings cannot be reset to normal this process will help you. To reset do the following.

[1] Press "Menu" to display Menu screen. And then press [c/d] to select "Setup".
[2] Press [a/b] to select "Reset" and press "Enter". If you already set a secret number input the four digit number here. "Return to factory preset values" will displays on the screen.
[3] Press [c/d] to select "Yes" and then press "Enter". "Now the TV will restart automatically. OK?" dispays on the screen.
[4] Press [c/d] to select "Yes" and then press "Enter".
"Now inithializing" displays on the screen and blinks. After the reset has completed, the power shuts Off and then come backs On. The screen will have returned to its original settings.
OK.

This solution may have worked, but my television was completely frozen so I wasn't able to pull up the menu. I called 877-332-7867 and the service technician walked through the process of manually rebooting the television to factory settings.I googled the number and it brought me to the AQUOS Advantage websitehttps://www.aquosadvantage.com/ SHARP

The service provides free troubleshooting assistance to AQUOS owners. My problem was fixed in about 15 minutes. GREAT service after the sale! I will remain a loyal AQUOS customer. Next television purchase will definitely be a SHARP. Thanks to everyone who submitted a solution. I appreciate it!

Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U 42in hdtv lcd How do I get the channels to change faster? It's like a delay compared to my other hdtv

There is a 3-5 second delay between the channels when you change them on these particular tvs and there is no way to change that unfortunately.

Sharp digital tv cannot receive digital signal

This television would benefit from an hdtv indoor outdoor amplified antenna not obstructed by trees, aluminum, bricks, and etc. Make sure the signal type is air and not cable and complete a channel scan during primetime tv hours after connecting to this antenna. Buy a large one that you can mount to the wall usually in a large flat box on the shelf in the store. Philips has one sold at Walmart.

Sharp Aquos LC 32G4U not receiving any channels-

Most locations are real hard to get local stations using indoor antennas. If you are in a location where you do not have cable, I would try either a outside antenna on the roof or go with Direct TV Dish / Dish Network system.
I hope this helps,

No antenna tv signal

Your dish remote should be set to the code for your TV. Then you will be able to control the channel number, not just up/down, as well as volume and maybe even the input. But do try to get a real remote for your TV so you can get to its menus.
Meanwhile, use menu+menu to see the channel being output by the Dish receiver. (Must be a 622/722... based on the 60 you listed.) Try to find an unused UHF channel number that your set does have in its up/down list. Match Air/Cable setting of Dish and TV. The Dish output is analog (NTSC) although the tuner(s) only accept digital (ATSC).

Blink on Sharp Aquos LC-32D43U

If your using a HD converter box, there is usually a blink when switching from an HD channel to a non HD channel. It is just adjusting from different pictures modes such as changing from a 480i channel/show to a 1080i channel. If this is the case, its perfectly normal.

Sounds like the signal is probably too strong. The TV is not the problem.

Size of screen

If you have black panel os sides the picture is not HD. Not allways the HD broadcasting have HD shows. The advertising for example is not HD. Check the picture size in the tv to be "allonged" and play with the screen size with your cable box remote. Usually is # button.
From what I know LC42D62U has no TV Guide feature.
