Hi,
There is no default password on the T60.
If you are seeing a lock symbol then somebody has set the supervisor password. If you can't guess it (try "password", "admin", "pass", etc) then you need to find the person that set the supervisor password.
Once the supervisor password is set the T60 is very well protected and it can't be reset by removing the laptop battery or CMOS battery.
There is a way to read the password from the protection chip but this is very complicated and requires taking the laptop apart and building your own chip reader.
The instructions for doing this are are:

Hope this helps,
Chris
•1 From the Start menu, click on Settings, then Control Panel.
•2 Double-click on Display. A window will open.
•3 Click on the Screen Saver tab.
•4 After ensuring that a screen saver is selected in the screen saver box, click to place a dot in the small box beside Password Protect Your Screen Saver.
•5 Click on Change. A window will open.
•6 Enter the password that you want to use.
•7 Enter it again to confirm it.
•8 Click OK to leave the password window, then click OK again to apply your settings.

Hello
hello there black screen and requires password, it seems that you locked it in bios, if you don't know the password you can reset the password by resetting the bios battery or short the two pins under the memory slot of your laptop.
thanks
Watch for the status message "To interrupt normal startup, press the blue ThinkVantage button" to appear on the screen. The only time you have the ability to access your BIOS is while this message is on your monitor. If this message disappears, you will have to restart your T60 and try again.
Press the "ThinkVantage" button on your T60. From the list of options that appears, select "Start setup utility." You will be prompted to enter your BIOS password. Type "merlin" and hit "Enter" to bypass the password prompt using your backdoor password and enter your main BIOS utility.
Select "Security." In this window, select "Set Password." Type the new password you want to use for your BIOS. Press "Enter" to finish resetting your T60 BIOS password.
