Here is my problem they tell me I need an antivirus program for my Windows 7 64-bit PC it is a HP G I need an antivirus program 62 notebook with 3 GB of installed RAM and 283 GB of installed disk space I have tried other antivirus programs Kaspersky caused my computer to slow to a crawl and let viruses under its guard. Norton caused my computer to slow down and it stopped my Dragon NaturallySpeaking from working. I had to uninstall it. AVG caused my computer to freeze completely for hours on end when I tried to install it on my XP computer it took five hours it was 130 in the morning by the time it was installed .I tried avast it nearly killed my computer I had to get rid of it too. I've tried many other antivirus programs people don't specify what program to get .I asked Hewlett-Packard what antivirus program would work with a Windows 64-bit computer would not stop my Dragon NaturallySpeaking from working and would allow my computer not to be slowed into a crawl that so bad it's painful. They told me to install McAfee it's the only antivirus I have not tried I had thought that my uncle Harry McMullen told me that McAfee is a great antivirus program that secure it certainly is fast and allows my Dragon NaturallySpeaking to run it picks up on malware but is it really secure or do I have to get Norton 360 does Norton 360 do the same kind of problem as Norton Internet security. I really want some details of Norton 360 I want a full report because I do not want to buy a bad antivirus program again. I need all the details I need to know what programs it's it compatible with doesn't catch all the viruses how to stop it from not catching all the viruses and how to make it work smoothly on both Windows 7 and Windows XP operating systems. I want an antivirus program I could recommend to all my friends. I want an antivirus program that will stop the viruses in their tracks but I don't know what to do I need a program that will allow my computer to go fast and will allow me to use Dragon NaturallySpeaking as well because I need Dragon NaturallySpeaking because my typing is terrible .I am making this note right now when Dragon NaturallySpeaking and that is why it is so long. I need an antivirus program that I can be proud of one that will be powerful and fast and allow my programs to run that's what I need please help me.

I have used Ad-aware for a long time. It's very easy on the system and is actually very good at blocking threats. Here is a test on major antivirus softwarehttp://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,237...

Do i need to install anything before using my notebook on the net

Not necessary. Your notebook contains pre-installed windows essential security application. So it protects your computer. But if you using internet constantly on your notebook you need an Internet Security Software to protect and safe guard your information.

I upgraded the memory on my Thoshiba Satellite to its maximum 4Gbyte. I added two 2GByte memory module. But my memory test program and Windows operating system says that only 3Gbyte memory available. Does...

It means that your version of windows can only use 3 GB of your ram. This is a limitation of 32bit operating systems, due to the way the memory is addressed, which only allows upto 3GB. If you want to use 4 GB or more then you'll need a 64bit operating system. You do have a 64bit laptop so it's just a matter of installing a 64 bit version of windows. Or another operating system if you prefer, I can't stand windows personally.

If you've already got a 64bit operating system installed, then there may be something wrong with one of the modules, in which case you should be able to get a replacement.

    Hope this helps.

Just need to know what model of RAM I need to upgrade. I ran the Windows 7 memory test and it stalls at 21% and tells me there's a hardware problem.

Their might be many issues when windows 7 could not be installed successfully.

However to answer this question this computer has 3 RAM installed (512 MB each). So it has 1.5GB installed

For installing Windows 7, a minimum of 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit) is required.

More information on system resquirement for WINDOWS 7 upgrade is available on:
