The Car chargers are generally the defective unit.
I have also faced a similar issue as the spring loaded cigarette lighter was pushing the charger causing it to disconnect.
Some Sat Navs can't convert, If it's bought & set to UK & Ireland maps, then you are stuck. 2nd thing , even if you can use Europe Maps on your Sat Nav, you still will be unable, to load USA maps.
Sat Nav not compatable, You will have to buy a NEW ONE.
Hi Ernie,
as you've already tried two different chargers, it sounds clear that it's not a charger problem. But, did you try also a different cigarette lighter? The problem may due to your car CL over power (maybe a fuse went...)
If it doesn't work please let me know, we'll try smth different.
Regards,
Peter
Hi. I just bought an in-car charger for the 7211 on ebay. It is 5v with a 2amp flow. It's not for the mini-USB port on the side but for the dc input hole on the other side. I've just plugged it into my laptop via the mini-USB port to see if it will charge that way but it doesn't seem to be doing. Hope this helps.
Check to see if you have power to the fixture, make sure you have a good ground (fixture to dash tight), if all these check out you may have a bad fixture that needs to be replaced.
the fuse should be on the socket that you plug into the cigarette hole, ie the lead that connects to your sat nav. i assume you are on about the sat nav not the fuse for cig lighter
