You can turn off the electronic whistle on the morphy richards kettle by moving the switch (marked with a musical note) which is located underneath the electric base unit (not on the kettle itself).

Please use a multimeter and check the continuity of the power cord , now switch on and test the coils resisitance. If there is no continuity then the coil is open and the element has to be changed.

Get a new one. This is a result of electronic component failure or a tripping of the varistor that controls how hot the kettle gets. It is failing as a prevention for fire. This is a built in safety and should not be bypassed.
